and then there's the English and American idiomatic confusion:

If you tell a young lady "I'll knock you up Saturday night" in the USA, you've just announced your intention to make her weekend memorable by getting her pregnant. You can imagine a 19-year-old HatterDon's reaction to a lovely young Bedfordshire lass ending our first meeting by saying, "Knock me up tomorrow."
