What is so wrong about my post Brown.... I may have been brutal which I apologied for to rivrside in an earlier post, but it was my opinion. I feel like he is a poor footballer, poor distribution, offers us nothing going forward... Our best left back at the club, oh yes thats right he is a renowned left back that has played plenty of football in that position for Fulham.... If he was that damn good he would have played more in that position than riise last season...

Great arguement though, calling someone a ****** is constructive and gets your point across brilliantly.

Thanks for the nice words Kcat, but im not worried by people like him.... its a forum so there are topics everday which some people will agree with and disagree with.... Shame that his intelligence only allowed him to post a pathetic insult, rather than make a reasoned response.

TR - I am good mate, Shanghai is a great city, and we are both settling in really well. Move into our flat at the beginning of september which is exciting... I have never rated him, and as ben .entions above Jols desire to continue to play such an injury prone player disrupts the balance and substitutions during the game.

The big question for me is why Jol made the point that Richardson would be first choice. We all know the injury problems are not going to go away. Really leaves us with the problem at left back. Briggs did well but his defensive positioning and the fact he is turned so easily by the player he is marking is a worry.

With the injury hitting our squad it has highlighted the problems. Will we spend money in one position and gamble on the rest or just gamble?

I have a feeling he was picked by default.... Riise and Jol have obviously not seen eye to eye (to be fair Riiise was awful last season) and Jol doesnt have too much faith in Briggs, I think he is exciting going forward and good in the challenge but his positioning scares me big time...I have a feeling Jol will invest in a new left back ( I thought this before the injury on saturday) and a CM and that will be it.

being turned a couple of times means nothing. Reither was turned a couple of times yesterday as well.  Sometimes you just come up against tricky wingers. The point is that Sunderland did not score from anything that Briggs did.  And Briggs made some good tackles too

Considering Richardson's age and injury history I would not of signed him, but we did, and while everyone is entitled to an opinion such unkind comments are uncalled for.
He hasn't committed a crime, just been injured a lot, and I think its fair to say he hasn't got injured on purpose.

the question is though, is Richardson actually 100 percent fit when he starts or does he tell porkies to the staff cos he is desperate to play. With the amount of injuries he has I'd be surprised if he couldn't feel something on the warm ups.

I'm sure Richardson will be totally fed up with the situation, he managed to come through pre-season with no problems and looked as though it was all behind him.  I think he is a good player better than Riise.  I have to feel sorry for the lad.

:plus one: Definitely better than early Bairdinho, anyone that witnessed his first season of woeful performances at full back would think Richardsons performances world class in comparison

Richardson is definitely good enough. But the injuries mean we do need someone else as our first choice
