Liverpool and Sunderland struggled Palace are out on a night when shocks udually happen

But didn't Palace play the B team? - and Holloway said he'd rather spend the evening trying to sign players.

And Sunderland turned their game around in the second half and scored 4 goals.

And Liverpool hit the woodwork three times in normal time and went on to win by 2 clear goals in extra time.

While we put out a very strong side against a weakened League 2 side and went through on penalties.

It's not all doom and gloom but I think we have more to worry about than Liverpool and Sunderland. Palace have more to worry about than us, of course, but is that the standard we want to use as a measure?

In fairness, we did hit the woodwork twice and the keeper made three outstanding saves. For all the tentativeness we did create a lot.

At least we are in the hat for Round 3

Careful... This is teetering on the verge of bordering on possibly being a potentially positive post. Perhaps. Is that allowed?

Nah bring it back down. Did 'the special one' not travel because of any specific ailment or did he just say to his boss and team mates "not tonight thanks"
A couple of posters, including the chap from Burton, are mentioning we do not seem to be playing as a team. Certainly some of the reactions to misplaced passes, the second Burton goal and substitutions would indicate all is not well on the pitch, possibly frustration with the instructions, but the changing room must be a little tense with all the hype and PR revolving around the special one who is yet to deliver. The likes of Frei, briggs, dejagah and co are going backwards. People are blaming a lack of confidence but these are good players. Something is amiss.

It says alot when your 2 best players on the night are a 36 Year old Greek and a 32 Year old journeyman who seems to play with more passion being here for 2 minutes rather than players who have been here slightly longer.

I have always defended Ruiz, up until now.
He clearly cant be bothered...

He may not have played well, but to single him out for such damning criticism on a night when only a few players, at most, looked as if they were bothered seems unjust.

In case the Ruiz haters missed it...Ruiz supplied the pass to Taarabt for our first goal...

Hmmm dont tell anyone but Ruiz lost the ball in the right back position that led to their second goal....just saying

Is there any particular reason for your being so dismissive of our players?

Were you amongst that select band who decided to boo Taarabt when he came on in the Parma game?
It could be better but it's real life and not a fantasy

We all know he is not great defending, wonder why Jol let's him get that near to our goal. His strength is going forward. If he is defending it tells me that we are under the cosh somewhat.
