Where we currently sit now, to where we sat when Sanchez got the sack and Roy took over?

i.e. games played, league position, points, goals for, goals against etc.

Willard

Sanchez left on 21 December 2007. We were 17th on 14 points.
The following week we lost to Spurs and were 18th on 14 points.
Roy took over on 29 December with a draw against Birmingham City. We were then 19th on 15 points.

Thanks Willard.  I recall Roy sat in the stands for the Brum game and Ray Lew took the team.

How many games had been played when Sanchez went?

We had played 17 PL matches between the start of the season and 21 December.

So Rene has a decent head start to get the team tuned up for the Christmas period.

We are also nearing the end of the nastiest fixture list I have seen in a long time - it was hard to see us taking points from any of our last few games with te exception of Swansea which we also lost last season.

I'm hoping that with Jol out the mood will pick up and we may be able to get out of the relegation zone by Christmas.
