I would say if you finish the season level on points with the 17th place team and they are -15 and you finish 18th with -16 or worse then the goal difference in that respect is worth a point. when you are struggling the need to reduce the amount you concede is high n the list as RM has said on a few occasions. in his words we need clean sheets
