If he is going I expect Morrison must be close to a deal, or at least it depends on whether he goes. I like Taarabt though, he was fairly pants on Sunday mind...

Fulham want Adel Taarabt to leave this week, The Sun say.

Taarabt, on a season-long loan from QPR, has failed to impress Whites boss Rene Meulensteen, who would like to send him back to Loftus Road.

Harry Redknapp has been aware for some time that Fulham do not want Taarabt, but the Rangers manager has indicated that he will refuse any request to take him back.

QPR would have to agree to a return for the Moroccan as there is no clause allowing Fulham to cut the loan deal short.

Nevertheless, Meulensteen is reported to have told Taarabt he has no future at Fulham.

Since when do we get dictated to by a joke club like the ha ha's?? If we don't want Taraabt, for whatever reason, he goes back to where he came from, simple as that.
And if Redknapp doesn't like it he can go & have a twitching fit in a quiet corner.

Doesn't work that way

If we dont have a return clause it just proves how much MJ had lost the plot
Every day is a Fulham day

Why would we need to get rid of Taarabt to get Morrison unless we are that cheap, or we are loaning Morrison, which would be pointless as usual.

Well I guess he lost the plot twice then cos we are stuck with bent too!
Most 'season long loans' have this agreement in place. It also covers the borrowing team, imagine if Bent was any good (I wont use Taarabt as an example because there was no way Arry was having him back) and banged in loads of goals and Villa decided to recall him on Feb 3rd. We'd be royally shafted. As it happens we are royally shafted by being stuck with him!

aaronmcguigan

Why would villa or qpr agree to this? They've planned their season without them, I assume the only way out is to find them another club so that when they go back to their parent clubs they'll be going back out.
Is this another own goal on top of the own goal to get them in in the first place? Why would you tell someone they are unwanted if you know there is no such facility to get them out? Or Is this an instruction from RM to agents to get tarrabt a new club I wonder

Sheffield game summed him up for me - he came on to loads of anticipation, tried to be really clever, lost the ball abut 15 times and had a pass completion rate of about 10%. He has all the ideas but can't execute it enough. He also HATES the simple option.

So..yeah, send him back.Though send Bent back too, please.

:plus one:...exactly.

MJG

Its all about how badly do you want a player. Jol would have said Bent & Adel would be key to the season, proven goalscorer and someone who on paper is a game changer.
Both the clubs (QPR & Villa) dont want them but they also dont want to have a break clause in January (Just like the one we had with Burn). They play tough and CEO/Manager agree we need them and hey presto we have them for a season, Villa are at least 3.5-4M better off.

IF Bent had played from the start banging in goals we would not be having this conversation. The crime is that Jol & Ally Mac agreed to use two loans on players who(given the formation Jol put out) are not even starters for the team.
Jol even admitted he was not sure how Bent & Berbatov could play together.

Rather keep Tarrabt and get Bent off our books, seems to have lost his goal touch and if he is not scoring then he is a a luxury and we have Berba occupying that space. Tarrabt when he played the lone striker role put in a great shift for us.
I would say that if Bent has lost his goal touch then he is exactly the opposite to a luxury.

You mean you need convincing of whether we are cheap or not? Have a look at our current squad and financial expenditure on playing staff! We are the cheapest club that has ever existed in the Premier League.

That's actually not true in terms of our wage bill which is very much what a mid table team spends.

We don't pay big fees.

Aaron

Considering we have no way of getting rid, what's the point in coming out and saying that the player has no future here?  Everyone knows Taarabt has an attitude so we've now rendered him entirely useless for the rest of the season, he won't ever play for us again now.. At least before making this statement he was an option, albeit not a great one.

This doesn't free up a loan berth, doesn't allow us to sign anyone else, it's just a statement that we intend to pay him his wages for the next four months and he doesn't (and won't be asked) to do anything to earn them.

The ONLY thing I can think of is that this is RM's way of stressing to those up the food chain that we need to sign another player for this role on a permanent deal.

What an utterly, utterly crap state of affairs we find ourselves in..  Wasted loan berths and (evidentally) no intentions of spending to correct our mistakes.

Julius Geezer

Taarabt is disruptive.

He's a poor trainer with lazy attitude.

Shame because he has all the talent in the world.

There's a reason QPR don't want him there.

Redknapp is known to rate him highly but doesn't want a bad influence like him at their club.

And in our predicament, we don't need that either.

No, you're right. We get has-beens on high wages and free's on the whole. Essentially the British version of an MLS final pay day retirement home!

For sure you can question how well money has been spent.

bill taylors apprentice

So the best we can hope for is, his agent can find a club willing to take him for the rest of the season.

However unlikely, he will need to agree to go and probably take a cut in wages. again all very unlikely.

The phrase that uses the words "brewery" and "piss up" come to mind.

TonyGilroy

No doubt we'd have to pay any shortfall but we could then bring in a loanee.

Classic94

I'd rather Bent left.

Tarrabt to milan is the latest rumour while Cristian Zaccardo (32 DEFENDER) could come to us.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope
