Chihi looks to be a good signing

I don't know how people can say he looks good already!

From the Hammersmith End he looked like a poor mans Hulk!

His crossing was dire, his ability to beat a man wasn't there, one footed and gave the ball away when a bunch of our players were waiting in the box!

With time he might come good - I don't want to slag him off too much! - but on today's showing, he looks another average signing.

I am not sure I understand anything much about some posters. I have spent all afternoon at craven cottage watching an excellent game but the substitutions showed felix has not the first idea what he is about.

Chihi  was poor and in fact so poor that fabio who had to sit and mind david in the second half until the substitution was suddenly all the room he needed to get forward and hassle us, because Chihi  was no danger.

for me he was strange....
was not nice on the eye at all.
I can see him being one of them players that 1 week he will glide past defender then another look non league, constantly falling over his own feet etc...

I have to say some of his runs after laying off the ball were awful though.

This is pedantic but is a personal irritation...it is one of "those players" not "them players". Thanks in advance.

I was there and his control was awful. I'm not sure what positives some people saw but that's the beauty of the game I suppose.

actually it isn't one of the beauties of the game. i agree with youhis first touch was poor and that was a fact for anybody to see, he was also slow and looked rather unfit. I would have kept david on the field and he looked mighty upset to be withdrawn for no good reason.

GrahamG

I thought David looked very good in the first half (free kicks aside) but he was undoubtedly less influential in the 2nd and I believe he was tiring. I didn't mind him being replaced but not by Chihi.

Denver Fulham

Looked overweight, rusty and limited on TV.

whilst he was less inflluential in the 2nd half, david was keeing fabio pinned down at the back. when he went off, fabio had free reign down the left wing, the change was poor.

Was I watching the same game today? He looked terrible, a clumsy fat lump who had one lucky dribble into the box with about 8 ricochets off of defenders and luckily back into his path. Looked over weight and had a very poor first touch. Reminded me of shefki kuqi which isnt a compliment. Ill give him time before branding him a disaster but if its too early to judge him negatively, then based on what I saw its even crazier.to suggest hes a good signing.

I was fascinated by how massive he is, I think hes a handy sub because of his size( our squad is very small) but his ability looks limited to say the least. Our other trialists looking for clubs were fotheringham and fazlic, on that basis alone I wouldnt get too excited. Roberts is better

He was terrible. This must be trolling.

He looks massive, first touch is terrible and has no pace.

I guess that's a positive in some fans minds...

MasterHaynes

I thought he looked awkward and his first touch was poor, especially for someone who has played so many games in the bundesliga. Not a complete write off like Fotheringham, possibly  an option from the bench but 'd rather have LVC a sub for David to solidy midfield or G Williams as a Wide player to reinforce the attack.

That's it guys, slag him off on his first game for us. FFS At least give him a few matches before trying to destroy him. It's never enough is it? It was the guys first game for the club. How many of you would have settled for the draw before yesterdays game? Oh yes none of you, because nothing is ever good enough.

you are right but it was the wrong substitution at the wrong time and it is very frustrating.
however he doesn't really look match fit but the highlits on BBC did show he did a couple of good things too so maybe we can look forward to better..

Someone started a topic saying he was a good signing and many observed something completely different that's football.

Unfortunately he was another Felix experiment. Felix clearly wanted to see how he would perform rather then put pat on to commit an extremely dodgy fabio and I fancy win the game. Yes I would have taken a draw but a win was there for the taking

I thought he did OK not brilliant but OK and at least he TRIED. He is one of ours at least give the guy a fair chance to prove himself.

RaySmith

I thought he did well keeping possession -looked skilful and hard working.

To be fair to Chihi it's a new season and it was was his debut so he's going to be  a little rusty. He replaced Caley, who hadn't had the best of games against a strong defender. He paired well with Voser who hasn't had much game time either. He seems a smart player, created space and forced a defender to make a needless challenge which got us a free kick close to goal. Came in on a free and is the right side of thirty.
Yesterday we saw a much better Fulham and at last players starting to shot at goal. Maybe from too far, maybe when there were players in better positions and some that ended up in the top of the Hammy but they felt confident they had a chance and that the Manager wasn't going to chew them out over it afterwards.
For me, Emerson Hyndman was absolutely brilliant yesterday. I would of taken a point yesterday before the game. Considering past form. The lads really pressed for a winner in the closing stages and Cardiff looked beat. Another few minutes ? Who knows.

NorfolkJim

To me he appeared to lack match fitness - He also looked as fat as me - But he needs to be given time before the fans make their minds up about him IMO

I think it is fair to respond to the original post?  I watched the game on TV an thought he tried a few runs but that his final ball was poor and that he wasted possession. Will he improve? Almost certainly with training and match conditioning.  Is he good enough? Not sure.  That is not slagging him off, just being honest.

I think theres a big difference between starting a post to slate chihi and write him off instantly and responding to a thread titled 'chihi looks to be a good signing'.

Im sorry but if its unfair to criticise him then its certainly too premature to praise him. He looked over weight, slow and had a poor touch. His power seemed to be his asset. We are entitiled to give an assessment when a thread is made, id say the title of the thread is just as ridiculous as writing him off. He werent a trialist in july becsuse he was a sought after player, bargain basement but fingers crossed he can get better and be a decent squad player
