I fear that is what Khan/Lamming may have done in picking Magath - just looking at the statistics and not the man.

Yes, Magath's record is better than any manager that we have had but he has lived down to reputation that those with knowledge of the Bundesliga warned us about on day 1: huge turnover, huge squad, many ordinary signings, emphasis on fitness, chopping and changing of sides.
