what a season they have been having so far. played one game less than all the teams in the prem except leister city and they are 2nd in the table a point above city with the players they lost in the summer etc its quite amazing how good they are doing id love them to stay in the top 4 for the rest of the season. they are a club to look up to they are relatively a small club like us punching above their weight (which we dont do anymore)

Yeah always had a bit of a soft spot for Soton. Good for them!

I'm happy for them but it's only November - a lot can happen between now and May.

Remember when Hull were in the top 4 until around December when the came up back in 08/09. Phil Brown was being hailed as the messiah and then they barely won a game the rest of the season and had a very close shave with relegation.

Makes Pocket-Tino's decision to leave for Spuds questionable, the same for Lallana et al. You wonder whether they question their collective decisions to leave

when you look at how Spud's,Wheel lifters and Manure are doing. Money and kudos the motivators there.

Working with a club like S'oton, where the expectations are not so pretentiously high, success is a real bonus and an incredible buzz.

We experienced this when we reached the Europa final. Sustaining the levels S'oton have reached will be the hard part.

Steven Davis has certainly flourished since leaving us in 2008 and is an integral part of the team. Good luck to them.

Yes it is teams doing what Southampton are doing that give hope to all teams in the lower leagues.
