We lost a game. Badly.

Don't you understand how serious that is? Scapegoats must be named and shamed. Heads must roll. We all know how easy it is to create a dominating, winning football team. Why don't these idiots?

We must bang on and on and on and on until they learn.

Logicalman

I agree TG, according to at least a dozen or more members of this forum, they know EXACTLY what needs to be done and berates Kit for not doing it.

I just get confused as to how that many people could belong to the same forum and not actually be Championship (or in some cases - Premiership) managers in their day jobs.

In my line of work, if someone tells me how it needs to be done better, they had better have the credentials, experience and portfolio to back up what they say - unlike being a Football Manager of course (anyone can do that job)

oh quite easily, it was the drive that got me, not the drink 082.gif. Been busy with work and a few training detachments, that and avoiding posting on negative topics..... :hook:

Forever Fulham

I must say that the mother board is losing some appeal to me.  There's a new tone in town, and it is increasingly  snarky and confrontational.  Maybe it's more of a reflection on our fall from grace and recent bottom dwelling...   Endlessly agreeing with one another and nodding gets old real fast.  And we all like diverse and developed opinions which make you think.  But there are absolutists now who rail and posture with great certainty.  A lot of heat; not enough light.

Yes
But 5 nil is pretty hard to take also

btings

Main board has been pretty rough all season.

ron

The choice remains of course not to read all of the board, but choose the areas that you find stimulating or that in your own opinion require more input.
There's bound to be more fault finding in the position we find ourselves in, perhaps caused in the main by this unreasonable belief that we can still storm up the table to the playoffs. But on the other hand, isn't a bit of moaning on here just a way of easing the frustration of defeat at a level where we might have been expecting to win?

It's better than kicking the cat anyhow!

Well some decent suggestions here. However, barking back only encourages them and ignoring them isn't really an option. As an example, the Ruiz issue is something that is worth discussing but you can't mention his name, or Kit's for that matter, without  getting bombarded by the know it all's. If Kit had half the knowledge that these self appointed experts think they have we would be on a 14 match winning streak.

It's not going to get any better after that tonight.  :012:

The motherboard is going downhill and fast. TBH I can't even be bothered to read it anymore and rarely post now.
Funny how many slate Khan but don't come up with the money to buy him out, spend millions on players, change the manager to Jose M and win the championship this year, the premiership next year and do the quadruple the year after. It has become another cottage corner but without the swearing.

...the same question I always ask - tell me what Fulham related sites there are where everything is great and positive.

The club has been through the mill since Mr Fayed started to tighten the purse strings after Mr Hodgson jumped ship - the fans have seen little to cheer about and five managers, two owners and one relegation.

Do you really expect everyone to be happy? Of course there is argument and counter argument, of course the mood is sombre, it will change - as it will on other message boards, if things start to (consistently) improve.

There are over 2,700 members on this site which is a large number compared with other sites, possibly even combined, if you want to go to a site where everyone agrees with you because it doesn't reflect the same numbers of members then that's fair enough, alternatively, you could post on the main site and make your points of view known and you will find like-minded people who agree with you, but you can't expect everyone to agree with your points on any forum. If you cannot be bothered to post then you let the opposing members views have their say by default with no counter...

Well, do we all just leave or fight for the site? The instigators are really not that many. Perhaps, if we all PM Admin and suggested a few blokes be taken to the woodshed he might see the light. It has to be difficult for the mods since the forum is a place for opinions but if you threw a party and someone's behavior was so outrageous that it made your other guests uncomfortable, wouldn't you have a word with that individual and if necessary escort them out?
It is everyone's right to speak as he wishes but their is no obligation for others to listen.

LB, I greatly respect you and your opinions. However, I think you are a bit off base here. Yes, everyone has an opinion. Every two year old has an opinion. When that two year old keeps being disruptive and doesn't accept correction, what do you do? Do you let him run the house or do you put a hand on his backside? FOF is entertainment. Some good people have left the site because it is less entertaining than before. To me, and others who have confided in me, FOF is in a downward spiral, much like the old Cottage Corner. It is as if the entire site is being hijacked.

...agreed, and as a moderator it's impossible to keep everyone happy, but it's not our job to kick people off because their point of view differs - but they keep within the rules of the site.

The party analogy is interesting, I would say that if everyone voiced their concerns to the person who may not be aware of how his/her actions annoy the majority, and counter their POV they will think it's OK and do the same wherever they go. Re your last comment, again, agreed, hence we have an ignore facility so that you don't have to read certain posters comments - unless you want to...

...respect-wise the feeling is mutual YJ. If FoF is in a downward spiral are any of the other sites on an upwards spiral (also taking into consideration the a large membership as FoF)? And would it continue to be a panacea / shangri-la as more people, of all different opinions bring in their own opinions - and styles to the proceedings.

As mentioned the mood is reflective of the clubs' downward spiral, and again as inferred, if members say it's going downhill so they have stopped posting then who wins?

If you want to 'fight' for your opinions to be heard, do so - if you feel it's time to quit because there seems to be no hope - then there is no hope for the board, and any successive board, in time, will endure the same problems as they grow.

I hope a middle ground can be worked at rather than a resigned attitude to the fate of FoF prevailing. We have worked hard to make this site successful, and we do listen, but we try to maintain the peace, and hope the members who made it successful want to remain part of the success...

I just don't buy this "downward spiral" assertion. It has been said that the club is not in the place it has been in the last 13 years, and so the mood is likely to be sombre, but I for one haven't had experience of being ridiculed or shouted down..... other less favoured sites have honestly held opinions met with  volleys of 4 letter words from , it would appear, rather naughty 14 year olds (or adult equivalents).

I still think that by being involved in this site I am among friends who tolerate my opinions and interest me with theirs.
