A regular visitor at the Cottage with her son.  She sat a few rows behind me at the back of H7

Never had the courage to speak with her but I thought she was brilliant as Mrs Proudie in the 1982 TV adaptation of The Barchester Chronicles

Others will remember her in roles such as Miss Marple and the evil Mortianna in Kevin Costnors 1991 Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves film

Never watched her as Miss Marple as Joan Hickson had done such a great job years before. But Geraldine McEwan was a wonderful actress and will be sadly missed.

I must agree that Joan Hickson was some act to follow...........but agree Geraldine McEwan was a smashing actress and will be sadly missed.
