Hayes & Yeading agree loan deal for Fulham youngster

Young gun: Magnus Norman while on loan at Farnborugh

Fulham have agreed to loan Magnus Norman to Conference South outfit Hayes & Yeading United next season.

The 19-year-old Whites academy goalkeeper spent time in the division at Farnborough towards the end of last season and will continue his education at United.

Norman has been at Fulham since the age of nine and plays at the Craven Cottage club alongside his brother Felix.

He signed his first professional contract with the Championship club in October and will remain with the Whites until at least the summer of 2016.

In March he was called up to the England U18S squad for the first time.

United States' Friendly Win

Emerson Hyndman and the United States warmed up for the U20 World Cup with a 2-1 win over Australia in Gosford, New South Wales, on Tuesday.

The Fulham midfielder captained the side for the first time and went close to breaking the deadlock with just five minutes played, but his shot from the edge of the box just missed the target.

But it was the hosts who took the lead after quarter of an hour when Stefan Mauk combined with Awer Mabil before converting from close range.

Tommy Thompson almost found an equaliser 10 minutes later but his shot came back off the post, and he was again denied by the woodwork early in the second half when he got a head on Shaq Moore's cross.

But they soon turned the game around with two goals in the space of a minute courtesy of strikes from Joel Sonora and Maki Tall.

Fulham defender welcomed back by Bayer Leverkusen

Return: Kostas Stafylidis

Fulham may not fancy him - but Kostas Stafylidis was welcomed back with open arms by Bayer Leverkusen last night.

The left-back's parent club broke ranks with the notion everybody in white will have to wait until the end of the month to know their fate when Bayer tweeted a return for the Greek born player, who made 46 appearances for Fulham last season.

Stafylidis re-tweeted it, maybe as a reminder to his loan club he is valued in other parts.

The tweet said: "After a year at FC Fulham defender Konstantinos Stafylidis returns for the new season to Bayer 04. Welcome back!"

The last part was in English to emphasise the point.

The 21-year-old blew hot and cold despite a prolonged run in the team, and manager Kit Symons reckoned in February he was still working on getting the player to mark wingers more tightly.

However, Stafylidis's goose was cooked during the 3-0 home defeat by Leeds in March (see gallery and video) when he was yellow carded twice in 30 seconds - once for dissent and the second when he clattered into Leeds' Sam Byram on the touchline.

The resulting melee of players saw Fulham fined £20,000 by the FA for failing to control its players.

Symons raged at the red mist that reduced the side to 10 for most of the second half.

"The sending-off didn't help. It was rash, a silly, petulant thing to do," he said at the time.

Brentford eyeing ex-Tottenham manager as Warburton replacement

Brentford are targeting former Tottenham and Fulham manager Martin Jol as their new manager, according to the The Sun.
Jol is a target for Brentford

Jol is a target for Brentford

The Dutchman has a very impressive CV having managed clubs like Ajax, Tottenham, Hamburg and Fulham. He was sacked by Fulham in 2013, after a torrid season for the Whites which saw them relegated for the Premier League.

He's now one of the names linked with the Brentford job after manager Mark Warburton was controversially told he didn't have a futurewith the Bee's – after he and the owners reached the verdict that they had different visions for the club.

This sparked a outrage among supporters, after Warburton took over from Uwe Rosler and lead them to League One promotion. On top of that, he then helped the Bees to a top six finish, where they lost out to Middlesbrough in the play-off semi finals.

The London club finished in fifth spot in the Sky Bet Championship and accumulated 78 points last season.
