I see Wigan have released Al Habsi always thought him a decent keeper,  plenty of experience and would make a decent backup for Betts. 049:gif

Strange one - always thought he was a very competent keeper

They probably can't afford both him and Carson, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

He wouldn't play fiddle to Betts, thats just madness. He'd expect to be our No.1 if he came.

It would be good if he did. Can't see it though.

We already have a decent competent Goalkeeper. Who can only get better.
or injured

Darren Randolph has been released by Birmingham, a much better number two than Al Habsi would be. Say we sell Bettinelli when he's 25 (for example), Darren Randolph would be 30 and a capable replacement with 4 years of good quality (at least) to go, whereas Ali Al Habsi would be 35 and I think he's got too many mistakes in him.

As a solid back-up, I say go for it.

Plus it gives me an excuse to get my 2008 Oman shirt from out of the cupboard
@MattRhys63 - be warned, there will be a lot of nonsense

He is expected to sign for a Premier League side, according to BBC.

A pity Stekelenberg never had that clause in his contract as well

Fair enough! I can't see him being any sides' number one. Maybe Southampton? Fraser Forster is out for a long while and will need a better suited goalkeeper than Kelvin Davis or Paulo Gazzaniga. How long is Ben Foster out at West Brom? Boaz Myhill deal is yet to be extended with expiration this summer. Crystal Palace and Hull can be made sense of, and maybe West Ham if Jussi Jaaskelainen is let go (likely should Sam leave too).

No idea really; maybe he will be the back-up in one of these teams. I am sure he would prefer to be a back-up in the Premier League, rather than in the Championship and he would earn more.
