I don't know what it means, but...

This looks at points per game depending on how Kit Symons changed his team.  So in games where we were unchanged under Symons Fulham averaged 0.7 points per game.  In games where we made 1-2 changes we averaged twice as many points.  In games where he made three changes we did better yet, averaging 1.7 points.

I doubt that the differences between the top bars are significant, but there's something afoot at the bottom.   The same applies when we look at performance v expectation (per previous posts): with no changes the team does worse against opponents than you might hope.  When he made 1-3 changes the team did okay.  (this time, an overhaul caused us to underperform slightly).

Put in language that people might understand, we were unchanged seven times and only won once, 3-2 against a Forest team which pretty much battered us.

In our best games, Bettinelli, Bodurov, Staflylidis, LVC, Parker, Ruiz, McCormack played in all.

I don't think this has really helped much.

Birmingham City, Fulham and Wigan Athletic keen on out-of-contract Ipswich Town winger

Paul Anderson leaps over a challenge at Birmingham this season.
Championship duo Birmingham City and Fulham, plus relegated Wigan Athletic are keen on signing out-of-contract Ipswich Town winger Paul Anderson, we understand.

The 26-year-old will not be offered a new deal at Ipswich in the immediate future, although further discussions may be held later in the summer if that suits both player and club.

The former Nottingham Forest man, who scored in the first-leg of the Championship play-off semi-final draw with Norwich City, hit the net seven times in 71 appearances during a two-season spell with the Blues, but regularly found himself on the substitutes' bench during his time at Portman Road

Town fans wanting Anderson to stay have set up an online petition asking McCarthy to give the Melton Mowbray man a new contract, but we understand there will be no shortage of takers, should nothing materialise.

Birmingham and Fulham will be looking to strengthen their squads after finishing 10th and 17th respectively in the Championship, while Wigan, who released five players on Tuesday, will rebuild after falling into the third tier.

Anderson, who played his last game for Town in Saturday's play-off second-leg defeat at Norwich, is one of several players to have not yet been offered new terms by the Blues following their failure to cement a Play-Off Final date against Middlesbrough on May 25.

The Hunt brothers, Noel and Stephen, and Darren Ambrose are in the same boat as Anderson, while Richard Chaplow, who moved to Suffolk on-loan from relegated Millwall in February, is now also a free agent.

Ex-Macclesfield Town defender Elliott Hewitt has also been told to find a new club after Town decided against taking up an option to sign him for a further year, while Anthony Wordsworth, Paul Taylor, Paddy Kenny and Omar Sowumni are also on the look-out for new employers.

Jack Marriott, meanwhile, has signed for Luton Town.

Jack Whitehall Q&A

Following the announcement that Jack Whitehall will be captaining the Celebrity All Stars at Craven Cottage on Saturday, fulhamfc.com caught up with the actor and comedian.

This will be your second consecutive Shooting Star Chase Cup appearance – were you pleased to be able to sign up again?

It's great to be playing again and great too that there look to be a few people playing who will have worse fitness than me!

How did you find it last year?

Last year was great. I went down under a Rufus Brevett challenge and won us a penalty, so I'm sure this year he will want to exact revenge. I may have gone down a little easy...

You had to shoot off sharpish afterwards to watch Arsenal in the FA Cup Final. You must be delighted they've reached it again this season?

I'm very excited about the Cup Final, I'm only annoyed we didn't get to play Fulham in our cup run as I do love a day out at the Cottage!

Does your schedule allow you to play much football throughout the year?

Every time I'm on a job I do my best to ask round the crew and get a few games of football in, but actors are terrible to play with as they never want to go into a tackle for fear of getting hurt.

How would you describe yourself as a player?

Keen but flawed.

How do you know Fulham striker Matt Smith?

Matt was my old strike partner at university, but don't judge him on that. We only played once together then he went on to bigger and better things, while I went off to tell jokes about my willy to strangers.

He scored a fantastic goal this season against Wigan Athletic. What did you make of that one?

It was a great goal. And it wasn't even with his head!

Have you learnt much from Matt ahead of your Craven Cottage appearance?

I think the key to success is a good partnership. He has Ross McCormack. I have Tubes. Hhhmmm.

Tickets for the All Stars game are on sale priced at £12 adults and £5 concessions (under-16s) and can be purchased at fulhamfc.com/tickets or by phone on 0843 208 1234 (option 1) - seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Tickets can also be purchased in person from the Fulham Ticket Office. Please note that the price of an adult ticket increases to £15 on the day of the match.
