he did in one of the first questions he was asked as a liverpool manager, infact he said it was as perfect as it could be at fulham.

I don't think there are many jobs that would have tempted me away from Fulham, to be perfectly honest. I had such a good relationship with the Chairman and the Chief Executive, the players were magnificent to work with and everything was as good as it gets

Lorky, your like as gullible as an ugly drunk bird on a saturday night when some bloke with his beer goggles on will tell her " of course i love yer" to get his end away. But come sunday morning, the fat bird has been dumped once again.

Now Mr Fulham I have so far had you tell me Sven with a possible three new signings, Jol with a ferret and a chimpamzee on his head and Lord Lucan would be our new manager.

You now tell me it just isn't so. What am I to believe.

Eriksson was the favourite, but he wanted three expensive signings. This turned out to be too expensive for Fulham and they turned to Jol. The deal was close to an agreement last night but now Ajax pulled out of it because Jol wants to stay put because he was granted money to spend at Ajax.
After that Fulham turned to Gareth Southgate, which is a quite inambitious choice if you ask me. But I don't think the Jol deal is over yet.

By the way....why Southgate and not Mark Hughes?

Mr Fulham, I appreciate that you know people closer to the club than many others, but this theory of yours doesn't add up. Jol does not want to stay put in Holland. He has told both Fulham and Ajax that he wants to leave Ajax and come to Fulham. However, Ajax are behaving like pathetic children and are refusing to entertain talks with Fulham about a compensation package for Jol. In effect, they are trying to bury their heads in the sand until this all goes away. Alistair Mackintosh is out in Amsterdam trying to do a deal, but so far nothing has been successful.

There were rumours that Jol has a buyout clause in his contract for £1 million that would allow him to leave Ajax for a premiership club. However, this clause has since expired, and therefore he will only be able to leave with Ajax's consent, which Fulham can not get. In addition, Fulham have said that they will not be held to ransom over this deal; if Ajax begin demanding millions for Jol they will walk away.

How can Fulham now be talking to Southgate if their CEO is in Holland? I too am doubtful that this deal will go through, but I don't think your story, or the story given to you, has much substance.

Interesting point, BBP.
I don't know what Jol said, to be honest. He was quoted in the Mirror, saying "I'm looking forward to work at Fulham" and in the Telegraaf, saying "I'll stay at Amsterdam".

He clearly was misquoted in one paper. I would suggest that the Mirror quote is wrong, Telegraaf is a quite good and reliable source close to Ajax.

And do you really think that Alistair Mackintosh is doing everything alone? He definitely has some negotiators. Practically, it would be no problem to approach and talk to Gareth Southgate.

Having said that, I still hope that Martin Jol will be the new Fulham manager.

I suggest you leave out the Schnapps with your morning coffee Mr Fulham, and anyhow brandy coffee is much better. We've been linked with big names and then we go for Southgate? No way.

Let's be honest. It took forever for Hodgson to go to Liverpool, why would we think Ajax is going to just roll over and lose a good manager. They are likely playing 'hardball' and using every tactic to extract as much as possible. MAF is shrewd and will probably get his man but in the mean time our collective stomachs will be tied up in knots waiting and wondering.

oh dear mr fulham....i think this post could make you look a little bit silly by thursday

That was still McClaren, Southgate didn't start running them into the ground until about a month later.

I take my touche back Mr Fulham. So much for German Efficiency, i even missed the start of the final due to trains running late.  :dft012:

Yes, the DB is a quite special organization. Trains are always too late and the air conditioning is always defective.
Very "ungerman", if you ask me.
