Jazz Richards hails Fulham style after sealing switch from Swansea City

Fulham new boy Jazz Richards was lured back to the club from Swansea by the west Londoners' style of football.

The versatile full-back spent the second half of last season at Craven Cottage – making 14 Championship appearances – and has now returned on a permanent deal until 2018, with an additional 12 months optional.

Richards said: "When I was on loan here last season I settled in straight away with the lads and the staff, and I enjoyed the style of football that (manager) Kit Symons was trying to get the team playing, that made me want to come back.

"Kit's a good manager, a good coach, and what he's trying to get us to do will take the club forward and we've got the players to do so. And we've already made some good signings this summer.

"In some of the games last season we were unfortunate with the results, but with the crowd behind us this year supporting the lads I think we can go on and do big things."

Jazz Richards: Fulham sign Swansea and Wales defender

Fulham have signed defender Jazz Richards from Premier League side Swansea City for an undisclosed fee.

The Wales international, 24, has agreed a three-year deal with the Championship club, with the option of a fourth year.

Richards had a spell on loan at Craven Cottage last season, making 14 appearances for the Whites.

"I settled in straight away and I enjoyed the style of football. That made me want to come back," he told the club website.

Richards came through the Swansea youth system and made 51 appearances during his spell in South Wales, 13 of which came last season for Garry Monk's side.

He is the west London club's fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Ben Pringle, Andy Lonergan and Tom Cairney.

Wolverhampton Wanderers reject Fulham approach for midfield star

Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers have rejected an offer from Fulham for midfielder Kevin McDonald, according to the Express and Star.

The 26-year-old signed for Wolves in 2013 from Sheffield United for a fee of around £750,000 following their double relegation to League One, and has scored five goals in 87 appearances at the club.

He has a year left on his contract at the club and was linked with a £1.25 million switch to Fulham – they tabled that offer, which is now set to be rejected by Kenny Jackett.

Fulham are on the hunt for a new midfield partner for their only signing this summer Tom Cairney, who arrived at Craven Cottage last week for £3 million.

McDonald isn't the only player targeted by Fulham this summer, as the club also had an offer turned down for defender Richard Stearman, who managed to win player of the season at the club last year.

Brighton reject Fulham's £3m Dunk bid
by DAN on JULY 2, 2015

Brighton & Hove Albion have tonight rejected a second bid from Fulham for their central defender Lewis Dunk.

Reports claim that the Cottagers improved their £2.5m offer that was dismissed last month to around £3m today, but that the Seagulls also rebuffed that bid with manager Chris Hughton keen to keep the 23 year-old at the AMEX Stadium for the start of the new campaign. Fulham manager Kit Symons has long been an admirer of Dunk, widely regarded as one of the best English centre backs outside of the top flight, and has made improving his team's defence one of his key priorities for his first full season in charge at Craven Cottage.

The 6ft 4in defender has become a key part of the Brighton side, making more than 100 appearances for the south coast club since making his debut in a goalless draw at MK Dons the day after he signed his first professional contract with the club in April 2010. Dunk rose through the youth-team ranks at Brighton, captaining the club at youth team level, and made 37 Championship appearances last season, scoring five goals.

Symons is eager to rebuild his back four after a disastrous campaign in the Championship that saw Fulham let in 83 goals, which was the second worst record behind relegated Blackpool in the division. It remains to be seen whether the Whites will seek to secure Dunk's signature with an increased bid in the near future. The Seagulls are believed to value the defender at closer to £5m.
