my underwhelmed is because I do no think we need another midfielder, and because I think we need a central defender and maybe a striker if someone (smith or mitro) leaves. Add to that we are linked to Gaye and Dunk then we sign someone no one has ever heard of, and according to another report on this board a player who is way out of sorts and has inconsistent passing ability

Perhaps he is an out and out utility player who can play across the back four and in DCM? A Chris Baird type player?
Presumably he is cheap as chips so I doubt it is that much of a big deal.

The negativities about this don't take into account that the Championship is a 46 match slog. With cup games we could be playing 55 plus games. As long as he's not another Fotheringham/Fazlic he could be a useful and cheap utility squad member covering for injuries/suspensions etc.

O'hara has a tendency to forgot he's meant to be an athlete, and to abuse his team mates, think he's been given a year to prove he has changed.

No we don't have many defensive central midfielders. We do have many central midfielders who can play wide and are more forward thinking. Means Mcdonald isn't on his way but the fee we saved may mean we have more money for a non Dunk defender.

I understand he and Taggart can both join in Waltz in Matilla.

I anticipate many of you will be disgusted by this but here goes..... This signing really excites me. We all love getting something for nothing, such a small fee and Riggs scouting network make this worth a punt. If it doesn't come off so what? If he is good cover and can hold is own we are onto a winner. If he excels, well.....happy days.

This is low risk and will be a well informed and researched transfer (Rigg). Calm down and get behind the lad. Every so often a diamond in the rough is unearthed.

I really hope he Proves a lot of you wrong. With such a small fee this will mean a handful of "acceptable" appearances, he doesn't need to set the world alight.
