My daughter made a purchase in a online 'sitewide' sale which had no T&Cs & took a picture as proof.  Shortly after this purchase they added the T&Cs & removed the 30% discount previously advertised.  So far they are refusing to provide the discount.  Any sensible advice would be welcomed to help get the full discount.

Under the buying without seeing rules, specifically designed for on line purchases, you have 14 days to return the product and obtain a full refund. This at least will allow her not to lose financially, although it doesn't answer your question the company may relent if this action is threatened.

You don't say whether it shipped, was received, or charged to the credit card.  If it hasn't shipped, cancel the order and provide credit card company with picture and have them remove the charge.

You might also report it to Trading Standards at your local council.

technically they may be in breach of contract, the fact of making a payment by her would confirm the contract.

They are bound by it, and it could be that if they don't comply with it that she could either sue them for the difference between the list price and the price she purchased it for.

However depending on the cost is the 30% really worth that much?

Get it out there on Facebook and get as many people as you can to share it as a warning to others. Companies hate seeing themselves going viral.

as simple as this sounds it is spot on.

Also - speak to the ASA. They regularly investigate fraudent discounts/offers and misleading price points so give them a call.

Thanks for all the advice.  Waiting to speak to another contact but it seems we may be undone if the T&Cs appear somewhere on their site but not necessarily on the page of the advert concerned.

BTW, the boots purchased cost a small fortune so well worth chasing the discount.
