Just currently finished another session of acupuncture to help reduce a painful muscle spasm in my upper back and neck.
Not sure if it works, but I feel like a pin cushion at the moment.
I put the spasm down to Fulhams predicament, and a certain irritating poster, but I probably irritate him as well as others, anyway, that's my excuse.
Nothing worse then back pain, get well soon

Ok there are a couple of threads at the moment where the slightest thing written seems to be starting an argument between fans/posters.

Lets stop it because its destroying threads  and also I can see snowballing into people saying something they regret.

There is a lot of taking sides and putting blame on people (from the club owner to Jill the tea lady)because of the mess we seem to be in, but lets remember we are here for a reason.

Its a forum to discuss about Fulham (and other topics sometimes) and while we dont all agree with everyone all of the time, at least lets keep it civil.

I don't post much at the moment, mainly because i avoid conflict, but also because everything is so negative at the moment. Positively intended threads are hijacked by the negative brigade, so what's the point in leaving yourself open for beratement (forgive me if that's not a real word). I care passionately about my club, but not enough to abuse my fellow posters.

NogoodBoyo

I'm posting more than I have for a long time (without much response either Kent Cassandra) - except for one bloke who was very irritated by my sign-off.  Anyway, that's neither here nor there.  I'm posting more now because I find the change of management incredibly important and very interesting.  Once it's been resolved, I will probably pull in my horns a little, watch and consider - until the next management choice needs to be made.
Nogood "managing to cope with adversity, isit" Boyo
P.S.  Even though some of the old stalwarts have passed on, there are still some very good posters on here - along with the usual gaggle of gideons.  But that's true of any group in any walk of life.  They key to longevity is not to take things too seriously - and not to preach.

Please to hear you are feeling better, it gives me hope.
My problem stems from a severe trauma inflicted on my back 2 yrs 6 months ago, whereupon I sustained a fractured vertebrae, and a crushed Disc, which has partially collapsed. Although I was in some discomfort to say the least, I was too stupid to go and have it checked at the time, as I could not afford to have time off.
Well it's all coming home to roost now.
I have recently had X-rays which diagnosed the damage, I have had a bone density scan which I am waiting for results, and last week I had an MRI Scan, which I have to see a Specialist in December to discuss the result. They may not be able to operate as it's been left too long, but it's caused muscle spasms galore, and my movement is restricted, but I am still working.
They have hinted at injections in a copy of a letter I received, I assume they mean Steroid injections, the initial problem is skeletal, but it's affecting the muscle group now, hence the physiotherapy and acupuncture.
It's my own fault for being too stubborn to go to hospital at the time.
I think I need an op. But backs are dangerous places to operate.
Sorry to ramble on like this, but although my wife tells me I have the constitution of an Ox, I am in quite a lot of pain and discomfort, so as we men tend to do, I put on a brave face and grin and bear it.
As for pain killers, none are strong enough, not even Codeine.
Anyway there are others worse off than me, so i am not complaining just explaining.
I expect you wish you hadn't mentioned it now, but thanks anyway, sometimes you feel better is you share a problem.

Well I think of iritating people like this:
On the forum you have the fortunate position of ignoring them, it is just text so you can't hear them, and therefore don't have to listen to them.

In real life eg a work situation you can't ignore irritating people, often they are part of your work environment so have to liase with them, also you have to listen to them talking and going on.

that does not sound good, the only thing I can say is an operating on your back should be the last option. my father in law is a surgeon and he tells me they know so little about fixing the back that operations can sometimes make things worse. I found physio useless, and lots of deep tissue massages and acupuncture over about 12 months worked for me but I only had 2 slipped discs. I can only imagine the pain you are in try and get some diazapan it's basically just vallium I think but should definitely help if not for your back it's sure to ease the no manager/coach situation.

I have posted more in the last two weeks than in any other two-week period because, as the Welsh dude NogoodBoyo says, this is an important period in the Club's recent history.  I've only ever had one spat in my 900 posts with one other guy so, for me, it has  been good-humoured and a valuable source of information about FFC.  I've learned more about managers, contracts, and coaches than I thought possible.

I have come to this a bit late because I haven't been able to. I fully accept that I am guilty of hostile posts and in the spirit of this thread, I will now stop responding to negative posts and accept that we are all Fulham and that is the big thing that we will always have in common

Aged 22 I had a serious back injury playing football, My coccyx ended up damaged and out of line and i had two prolapsed discs, I had pain and spasms from my back to my toes and for 3 months after it happened i couldn't stand up straight. I suffered years of pain in my back and legs, pins and needles and numbness, I couldn't sit down for more than 5 minutes at a time and nearly had surgery aged 31. By chance I met an anesthetist who spoke to a few doctor friends who all advised me not to have surgery because as i got older the chances were that it would get better as i got older. Within 3 years it started to get better and now aged 50 i still play football and run up to 6 miles in one go. I still have twinges and my back muscles go every now and then  but it is nothing compared to the pain i once had. Obviously every situation is slightly different but i would always get a second opinion before an operation.
Wishing you all the best in the future.

I feel sympathy with you having lived for the last 3 years with my wife in pain.
3 years ago she was working in the laundry department where I work, on her own,
and was doing a job that 2 people should have been doing.
It involved threading large table cloths through a 8' press, which involved constant
twisting. One day after 3 weeks.......ping,....she was in terrible pain.
She went to the doctors and in her pain she made one 'mistake' which resulted in
a Workers Comp claim being denied which would have included medical expenses
(although we have health insurance)
For 3 years she has been on 2/3 oxycodone a day and suffers from back spasms at
any given time which means she cannot work.
Even standing in line at a supermarket she can have a spasm and have to leave and
go lie in the car until the spasm passes.
We have been to see various specialists in the Richmond Medical Mafia, none of
whom has been able to diagnose exactly what the problem is.
The closest anyone has got, strangely enough is the Social Security Disability Doctor.
It certainly seems that Ida's problem is to do with the muscles and nerves that run down
the left side of her spine.
The medications certainly control to some degree but only after a spasm has started.
There is no point her taking them in advance as they don't do anything and she cannot
take them constantly or she would be permanently spaced out.
It certainly has restricted her quality of life and ability to work but she is a determined
lady and does her best.
Hopefully we will find a doctor one day who can diagnose and fix her injury.

Thanks for reading, this is mainly about my understanding and my support on this thread
of the people (and others) who are in constant pain. I hope you find some relief asap.
