Might be of interest for some - a campaign to get a few more people going to non-league football, which I think is great. On September 4th there won't be any league football (break for international football). Non-league football can be great fun; I went to see Bath City a few years ago, witnessed a fight and only two yellows given, heard a man shout you're a fat Jodrell banker from only a few yards away, had a cup of tea for 50p, and got in few a fiver!

They've decided to shut down Leagues 1 and 2 over international breaks? Insane

...a great idea and one that will boost the dwindling coffers of many a local club. I am just around the corner from Kingstonians / AFC Wombledon, but I would prefer to watch the amateur team I have supported since I was 12 - Hampton (& Richmond Borough), their nickname however leads to much mirth with other teams, especially when the cry goes out "Come On The Beavers".

Who is your local amateur club - and do you ever watch them..?

Im around the corner from Woking.  They have very good support and are in good shape. They still need to get back to the Conference where i feel they should be.  I get to see them about 3 times a season.

They beat a Chelsea 11  last night  1-0  which was pleasing!

LB, I went to a wedding anniversary at their ground a few months ago. Nice little place, and a rather lovely Elfen looking barmaid... ;)

It used to be Stevenage Borough - family all live there - but as they will be playing League Football this season I guess it is Tooting & Mitcham who are in  the Ryman League Premier Division. Sandy Lane has some happy memories and none of them to do with the football  :013:
