Evening fellow foot soldiers. My daughter bought me a book for Christmas entitled 'Match of Their Lives'. I had never heard of this one before and what a good read it is. Going back to Tosh and then onwards revered former players talk of their best remembered game. Steve Earle is an especially good read.  If this is a well known book them please roll onto the next round and ignore.

Thank you and good night.

I bought a copy in a charity shop some time ago. As you say, a very good read.

Or Halifax away?

You are right Ron, it was Northampton away. I was there for that one. A wonderful 4-2 win and he got three. He also said that in the Halifax game he was put out on the wing after scoring 5 otherwise he may have got 7!!! A real good read this book, George Cohen's offering is riveting for us old sods.  I will come back on in the morn and inform of the writer.

Should anyone be interested this book is called Match of my Life and is by Michael Heatley and printed by Pitch. I do recommend.

And a Happy New Year to all my fellow Fulham supporters.    082.gif

I have a book voucher to be used, I will try to get the book along with My Gentleman Jim by Bryony Hill.
Could besome good Fulham related reading in store.

Stoneleigh Veteran

:wow:  66 years watching Fulham and three outstanding games to remember for different reasons.
Newcastle 1954 for almost shocking one of the great teams.
Northampton Town for excitement at that awful ground.
Cup Final 1975 for emotion. I almost did not care that they had lost, I had seen them play at Wembley.

Stoneleigh you shade me by 3 years. Great games you recall. I felt the same in Hamburg.... 082.gif
