Man United in pole position to secure deal for midfield sensation, Spurs and West Ham also keen

Manchester United are closing in on Fulham starlet Emerson Hyndman as the midfielder looks set to be leaving Craven Cottage this summer, according to HITC Sport.

A number of top clubs around Europe in the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham have been monitoring the 19-year-old, but United have stole the march on their rivals and look set to win the race.

The United States international joined Fulham's youth set up in 2011 at the age of 15 before making his first-team debut three years later in Championship fixture against Ipswich Town.

He has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season and is beginning to be a regular in the side but the Cottagers, like with striker Moussa Dembele, have yet to get him tied down to a long-term contract.

That means Hyndman and Dembele can walk away from the West London outfit this summer with the club going cap in hand for compensation.

According to HITC Sport, United are keen to sign the Hyndman with a view to loaning him out next season.

It has been another season of struggle for Fulham as they sit in 19th place in the Championship with 32 points from 31 matches and have won just one of their last seven matches.

Slavisa Jokanovic's side face another team struggling in the league this weekend in Charlton Athletic at Craven Cottage.

HITC Sport understands that Fulham youngster is set to leave this summer

Manchester United are favourites to tie up a deal for Fulham midfield sensation Emerson Hyndman, HITC Sport understands.

The 19-year-old from Texas joined Fulham's academy in 2011 and made his first-team debut in 2014.

Hotline understands that United are currently favourites to tie up a deal for the US international, despite the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham also showing an interest.

German giants Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg are also keen on landing him.

A Fulham source told HITC Sport: "He looks to be on his way, we have been told of a number of clubs who want him and are offering big deals, but United look to be in the strongest position."

With Dembele also set to leave this summer when his contract expires, Fulham will be losing to of their brightest prospects for next to nothing.

United are understood to be keen on landing Hyndman with a view to loaning him out next season.

Lee Clark looks to turn round Kilmarnock's season by following Jean Tigana

THE Frenchman was known for changing Fulham's training regime to coincide with kick-off times and Clark is intending to do the same at Rugby Park.

Kilmarnock boss Lee Clark

LEE CLARK reckons Kilmarnock will lose if they snooze.

And that's why the new Rugby Park manager is using the inspiration of French legend Jean Tigana to
revolutionise working practices at the club in a bid to snap them out of their slumber and turn his team into caged animals.

Clark is tearing the place apart,
literally. As part of his new regime
he wants the dressing rooms and
corridors leading out to the pitch redecorated to include images of
inspiration.

On the walls, pictures, messages, slogans. Anything to motivate and get the best out of the team.

Before all of that renovation is completed, however, there is one
other simple technique which could a major effect.

For decades British players have trained during mornings all through a week leading up to a game and then gone home for an afternoon sleep, despite the fact the acid test normally comes at 3pm on the Saturday, the exact time they would be in their beds midweek for an afternoon kip.

Tigana changed all dysfunctional approach during his time as Fulham manager and Clark, who was a player at Craven Cottage at the time, saw the instant benefit of moving everything into line.

Killie will now adopt that approach as the boss explained: "What have our players normally been doing at 3pm up until now? Probably having a nap.

"So come a Saturday their body is wondering what the hell is going on.

"I worked that way under Jean Tigana and it made a significant difference to our performances.

"Our fitness levels became higher and there was a great benefit all round. We became successful very quickly under him.

"We had a lot of senior British players at the club then but we all bought into it.

"From now on we will train
chronologically, which means that we will train at the same time as the kick-off of our next game.

"I've tried to implement it at other clubs but a lot depends on the facilities you have.

"You need floodlights for evening sessions but because we train at the stadium it's not a problem for us.

"Being allowed to do that was one of the big things for me when I took this job. It's about changing the mindset.

Jean Tigana

"Unfortunately we couldn't do it this week on Friday because the Glasgow Warriors were coming to play here and we had to be out of the stadium by 1pm.

"But we've already started doing that, with 3 o'clock sessions for Saturday games and 7.45pm for midweek matches, so that the players' body clocks are in tune. When there are
no midweek games there will be double sessions.

"Strength and conditioning training, along with prehab and rehab work, will now be compulsory and we'll be doing these things so that the players can perform at the highest level they're capable of.

"Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be intensive and we'll taper down on Thursdays and Fridays so that they'll be like caged animals by the time we get to 3pm on a Saturday.

"The players won't have experienced this before.

"Some of the younger ones will have been staying up too late, playing on X-Boxes and PlayStations, so the new system will given them the chance to get the required amount of sleep."

As well as working to tune up bodies, Clark wants to work on minds. To this end, the manager will also use the powers of motivation from all sources.

Citing examples from other sports, the new Killie boss sees great benefit in mind control and belief.

Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley, for example, filled his team-room with messages and slogans from famous figures to help his European golf team defeat the United States at Gleneagles in September 2014.

Clark is looking to do something similar and said: "There are not enough hours in the day to
implement all the changes I want in terms of how we do things, training, schedules.

"Things I want to change around the building such as the dressing room and corridors.

"We're trying to get that done as quickly as possible but it will take time. In the dressing room, for example, I want pictures of the players who are playing now and of past success stories at the club.

"Inspirational quotes from top athletes who have gone to be very successful and how they have achieved that success.

"It all comes under one umbrella and you have to look
at different sports and different sportsmen and how they become the best, be
it certain
individuals or teams.

"I like to get involved in other sports to see how they do things and what is different."

Clark, of course, knows that work behind the scenes won't matter much to supporters if results don't come on the park.

Today he'll take charge for the first time against Dundee and the manager was encouraged by what he saw in midweek, despite the 2-1 loss to Rangers in the Scottish Cup.

Clark said: "There were a lot of good things. They played with
confidence and personality.

"They played with a lot of freedom and worked hard even when they were tired. Fatigue set in so that's one area we will be looking to improve, which is quite difficult to do in such a short space of time.

"But if they can last the 90 or 95 minutes then we have a good chance of winning plenty games."

Charlton Is a Game We Must Win!

This afternoon, at Craven Cottage, Fulham will be hoping to get back to winning ways against Charlton Athletic.

After a superb 3-1 victory against Queens Park Rangers, at Loftus Road, last Saturday, the Cottagers sunk to a woeful 2-0 defeat at Ewood Park, in midweek, against Blackburn Rovers.

Today the home support are expecting Fulham to take the three points on offer against a Charlton side that have struggled this season.

Our visitors are in twenty-third place in the Championship table and are six points adrift of safety.

Clearly, it is a game Fulham should win, anything other than a win would not be acceptable.

Ahead of the game our leading scorer, Ross McCormack, has spoken to the media about the forthcoming clash, remarking,

'Charlton are below us in the table and we intend to keep them there.

'We are at home and we need to take the game to them. If we can reach the levels we know we are capable of it will take care of itself."

Wise words, but like us Ross is perfectly aware that Fulham could, due to their indifferent form, be sucked into the relegation battle, believing that it is Fulham`s mental attitude that is the cause of the poor form, with Ross further adding,

'We need to show we are good enough to pull away from the relegation zone.

'Fitness-wise things are not going to be a problem. It is more mental.'

This afternoon, in my opinion, is one of the most important fixtures of the season so far, anything other than a win against troubled Charlton could see our season take a turn for the worse.

Midfield SENSATION,that made me laugh.

I am equally astonished
Where does  this rubbish come from?
He has been a non-entity as far as I'm concerned

One Martin Thomas

Means nothing to Man Utd or any other big club.  It's all about someone else not getting him. He has shown enough in our youth teams to prove he has something.

Just a quick question, do we get less money from man city if roberts is loaned out to another club for 18 months? What is city's motivation in paying millions and then putting him in their development squad to then loan him out into Celtic's development squad. Just wanted to ask....
