...I think I may have managed to save one of the popular threads from the old board - bear with me as it is time consuming to 'bring across' :-

...MrsNo11 and I married on the first day of the season in 1984 (I know, my priorities were all wrong). We lost at home to Shrewsbury 1-2 (Kevin Lock). How many of you have had special days - weddings, christenings or other major events etc., whilst Fulham were playing. If you do not know the score I will try to find it for you and show the programme cover of the date.

PS: 24 years on I don't regret marrying a wonderful woman who puts up with me - lord knows how...

I got married on the 3 August 1996 - note out of football season and no world cup - and my two sons were born on a Friday, freeing me up for the matches on Saturday (not).

I was born on November 1st 1958, we played Sheff Utd.
My dad was at the game (I was premature) and named me after the Maestro

First of all let me say how disgusted I am at those so called fans who missed games because of weddings, funerals etc. Call yourself supporters. My intended  left me when I insisted on going to a Home game one evening against Doncaster But we won 4-0 or something of the sort so a good day all round.

However I would be interested in the nearest Home game to August 31st 1958. Now I was born 3am on Sunday so missed the Saturday away game at Swansea. Well I was young and unable to tell the time. So arrived late. Anyway the 3rd September 1958 Home Game  6-2 win at home to Sunderland or indeed the nearest home game of that great season would be of interest.
For some reason my Dad didn't take me as a newborn to the Cottage which I find a mystery to this day.

Thanks for this. White JC and myself were born in a good season. Nice to see the old badge proudly displayed as well.

My Dad died on a Saturday and when I arrived home from the game my Mum called me and I went over to see her. My Mum and Sister had come home from shopping and my Dad had died suddenly while waiting at home. But we were able to place the time of his death to before kick off because he hadn't turned on the radio to listen to the results.

As it was a sudden death Police were called and my Mum told everybody about the day. Each time she mentioned me returning from Fulham it received a smile and sympathy (yes we lost). As the Policeman said at least my Dad didn't suffer. But he turned to me and said "You on the hand have years of suffering" True story

...the for you tjl, here is the programme cover for that game. You were amongst the crowd of 28,639 to watch us win 3-1 as stated; the first by Mike Johnson, followed by one each from George Cohen and Jimmy (bandy legs) Langley. In typical Fulhamish manner we visited Brighton the next day and lost 3-0..!

Nowhere near as long ago as most of you but my mum got married when we beat Leicester City 2-0 in the Premierleague at Loftus Road I believe.

Boa Morte scored both goals and Steed missed a penalty after arguing with Saha.

...well trust you to pick a difficult one McBF1, we played Preston North End at the Cottage in front of 8,814, Matty Brazier and Wayne Collins on your wedding day. The programme date shows 24th March, but the game was cancelled and replayed - (we had to play Walsall again three days later):-

Your other date there was no fixture, we played Crewe Alexandra on the 25th at home, and Norwich City on October 2nd away...

The Swan

Rosemary and I married on the 12th of April 1969 at 3.30pm in St Augustines Church Hammersmith. Fulham were playing at home to Blackpool. The result was 0-0.
My daughter Clare married Phil on the 19th of April 2008 at 1.30pm in Chiswick. Fulham were playing at home to Liverpool and lost 0-2
My first grand daughter Erin was born ( to Clare) on the 31st of October 2009 at 2.30.am. Later that day Fulham beat Liverpool 3-1 ( I did not miss this game)

Hope this is what you want LBNo11.
