Defoe has just scored against Norwich and looks like he's made sure Sunderland win.
I remember saying that we should be going for him even before we bought Bent. We certainly should have spent the cash on him rather than Mitroglu.
You came all this way ... and you lost, and you lost.

Toby Ward-Smith

I have been a massive admirer of Defoe for years and he works so hard and will always put the ball in the back of the net. At the time Bent looked like a good acquisition based on his past records but sadly his quality never materialised.

What I don't get regarding Defoe is why no one mentions him to go to the Euros? People are mentioning the names like Carroll, Sturridge and Welbeck between them in all competitions this season these 3 strikers have scored 19 goals between them playing for teams fighting for European competition. Defoe himself in one of the weakest teams in the league has hit 16 in all competitions yet no one mentions his name with England anymore. He has a great record internationally too scoring 19 goals in 55 games and is one of the top scorers in premier league history scoring 168 goals. Why isn't he confided to go on the plane to France?
