Schwarzer's Arsenal move in doubt

MARK Schwarzer has been left in limbo by Arsenal - with Fulham insisting last night there has been no fresh bid for their star keeper by the Premier League giants.

Worse still, Schwarzer pulled up lame again during training on Tuesday with his damaged back getting emergency manipulation from keeper coach Kevin Hitchcock while the Aussie World Cup player lay on the grass.

Schwarzer's transfer request last week, together with this latest injury, makes him a serious doubt for Sunday's mouthwatering clash with Manchester United, although the Whites are still ready to play hardball as and when the Gunners finally pick up the phone.

Arsenal offered £2million in May for the 37-year-old. But because Fulham know the keeper is worth anything up to 15 points after his sensational campaign last time around they will insist he is as good as an insurance premium in maintaining the club's Premier League status.

An insider reckoned the ball was in Arsenal's court. "There's enough on everyone's plate in trying to build up the squad without looking to sell the club's better players," said the source.
