Championship clubs have agreed "in principle" to use goalline technology from the start of next season.
Clubs agreed to the decision on Thursday and it will be presented at the EFL annual general meeting in June.
The Premier League started using Hawk-Eye technology in 2013 and it is already used in the play-offs.
"This decision is about providing officials with as much support as possible," EFL chief executive Shaun Harvey said.

I would rather the money it will cost be used in educating refs in how to spot cheating, feigning head injuries, diving & the multitude of other situations that us mere supporters see every week that the officials miss.

But the referees and linos already do spot and see the players Cheating, they ignore it. They do not need money to pay for them to be educated. Because they already know that.
What they need is to grow a pair of Jacobs, and actually have the courage to make these decisions to penalise players who cheat. Simple as that, instead of the lino's leaving it to the referee to decide, and the referee turning a blind eye and pretending he didn't see. Football must be the only sport I can think of where the officials also blatantly look the other way, or lean toward the big rich clubs.
What with FIFA being awash with corruption, football is in a right old mess, more than ever, and if ever the bubble bursts and the cash cows walk away, and the sponsors desert them, and the bottom falls out of a domain built on sand. Then the game will be brought down to Earth, and the poor little rich boy footballers might have to throw away their Woolly gloves, and start working for a living.

Totally agree.
