Bless, and then we have a typical poster like yourself, who loves nothing more than to drop a handgenade in the forum, and wind up the other posters - childish.

Football changes from week to week, so do players, so do individual performers.

Get a life.

Steady on chaps...

We won 5-0, so lets at least try and have a few days of relative peace on here!!

It was a tongue n cheek remark actually, and I will have egg on face if Jozabed starts performing...It was about fans being so fickle.
And I've got a great life by the way don't need another..

Must have hit a nerve with you though.

I agree with what the OP is getting at. People are ridiculously quick to judge on here.

The OP's correct !

I'm sure I've contradicted myself over time and made a wrong assessment or two but some people talk nonsense all of the time and others talk nonsense some of the time.

Of course its healthy if those concerned are open minded etc but Martin could have scored 4 yesterday and some would still not rate him !

Personally, I think Martin is what we needed but can only use his assets in a game if the team around him are in tune with him and yesterday they were.
Johansen looked lost at first but now is integral to the team and his assets are transferable to any league.

As for Malone, he does the simple thing well and if supported by his team mates is effective most of the time.
Sometimes a player just lands in the right club, situation and team and it clicks for them and they perform better, Malone is one of those.

Mince, must agree with you and I understand the point that you are trying to make with how fickle and responsive some posters on this forum are the moment a player or the team starts to underperform. Can't say I am innocent for I have made some rash judgements before and I will always be happy to wipe the preverbal egg off my face when it means that the team are playing well and Fulham are on the up and up. The reason for this i feel is rooted in the fact that we have all been let down so often and in so many incredibly improbable scenarios that any sense of patience has dispersed, not to mention how many times we've changed manager and offloaded entire starting 11s that it has become easy to see these almost like for like players being introduced that we feel as if we know them and their abilities already based on the horror shows of the previous seasons. I think this Fulham squad is beginning to show consistency and composure, and that so long as it continues, our fickleness will slowly decline
Someone once asked me, "Why Fulham?".
My response, "Well, lad, you just haven't seen the light yet"

I  don't understand the harsh judgements on our new players after a few games - or even every time they have a couple of poor games.

But it's not just Fulham fans who are like that these days.

Nah. A hand grenade would have included analytics and Kline. This was more of a stink bomb.  :005:

The sentiment is correct though. This forum and many others, I'm sure, can swing from over-exuberance to depression/anger in the space of a week. We've been all over the place.

I do feel like the worm is gradually turning for the positive for us however. After 4-5 seasons of decline, Slavisa and the club appear to have the ship righted and sailing again. The results are still a bit inconsistent but, for the most part, the team performances tell a better story than that. I still believe that the realistic expectation for this year - what I would be satisfied with - was top half of the table. But hearing Slavisa talk about us still building toward what he sees this team's capabilities being, prior to a result like this, gives me confidence to expect to be in the playoff hunt come the end of the season.

One reason I left here before and don't post so much  no more is because I don't agree with a lot that gets said on here.

People guess a lot on here without really knowing the hard facts.

People who understand football would look at Chris Martin record with Derby and know a player dosnt become bad over night.
Confidence is a big factor with any player as is having time to settle into a new club.

When I posted on here before a ball was kicked about a Celtic fan had told me that Johanson was better going forward than as a defensive player. The experts had to have their say. I used to enjoy and still do the debate and leg pulling. But I guess there are just too many fans who make it uncomfortable by always knowing so much more and wanting to make a point.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.
