My money's sonnet

Apparently great football nowadays,
Is about players keeping possession.
Barcelona say if you play this way,
The chances of conceding do lessen.

The Championship is a hard man's league,
Its not conducive to all out attack.
It needs skilled players who do not fatigue
And can recover from any setback.

Fulham have a man called Jokanovic,
Who has built a team that can play that way.
He makes them tick over at perfect pitch
And has signed up for a two year stay.

    If he manages to achieve his goal,
    My heart will burst out of body and soul.

Nice.  I've never seen a football sonnet before.  The quatrains, the final two-line resolution, the rhyming structure.  Good thing you didn't try to work iambic pentameter into such words as "Fulham" (too flowy), or, even harder,  "Jokanovic".   Oh, wait, you have.  But you had to do the Shakespearean trick of artificially punching out one syllable words into two at times to make it fit the metric.  Like "signed".   Very clever, sir.  Well done.
