Kalas is liking and commenting again dropping hints, so I expect this'll be announced soon.

Either that or he's just a massive tease.

Anyone else find it weird that Kalas and Piazon might be contracted to Chelsea for their whole careers but never see more than a couple of minutes of league action?
I wouldn't call it weird, I would call it much worse.

Well, yes indeed. I just don't get why a player can't say "alright, I'll leave on a free next summer then." They seem to be over a barrel.

If they do say that, Chelsea don't let them leave on Loan this season- which drastically reduces their chances of playing for a whole season.

If Kalas says "I am leaving for free next summer", Chelsea will probably try to sell him this summer to the higher bidder rather than lose him for free next year.
On the other hand, the contract that Chelsea can offer him for the next three years might be more rewarding than the one we could offer, even if that means he will spend the next 3 years on loan with different teams.

And I have a big problem with a club doing that to its players. Chelsea and city's hoarding of players just isn't right in my opinion.

Right or wrong, that's business- and that's what Chelsea are doing, running a business.
Its a morally corrupt way of running a business, lure youngsters with the promise of good money then loan them out for what seems like forever

Well yes. Your first point is exactly why such a thing as the bosman rule exists.

Then, according to reports, you get Chelsea demanding way too much money and so the player has no choice but to sign the contract if he wants to play football next season. Which let's not forget, is his job.

It's wrong.

Yep seen that, a few little hints(hopefully) on Cairneys Twitter

We Are Premier League

Wells is yet to extend his contract, and he is miles of a starting spot given all their signings... could be a solution.

I would also settle for Gary Hooper. Sad to admit that a Wednesdays squad player is good for us...no chance he will be a starter this year, winnall and rhodes are first choices and forestieri and fletcher may also b ahead of him.

Would love Lucas Joao from Wednesday. Top striker. Big, Quick, Great on the ball and can score. Well rounded striker and was very good for Blackburn against us this season.

It`s mindblowing how many good strikers Sheffield Wed have while we have none.

Think he would be ideal tbh. Thought similarly about Omar Bogle for Wigan against us.

DARREN RANDOLPH

I'm sorry but are these guys seeing something I'm not? He's 30 and dropping a division... but for £4.5 MILLION?!

Is he actually worth that or are Middlesbrough just throwing money away for the fun of it?Overpaying for everyone this summer Middlesbrough are, hopefully they do an Aston Villa, but they're absolutely destroying market value by inflating figures for average players.

Woolly Mammoth

Needs must I suppose. If they are prepared to pay the fee, then the selling club will be happy to trouser it.
They obviously feel that to accumulate you have to speculate, nothing wrong with that. Sounds streetwise to me.

For what its worth, I think Boro have the best team in the league. By a fair amount.

Exactly, robbing banks is business for some but doesn't mean it's right.

Yep I'd be very surprised to see them not finish top 2.

PokerMatt

Agreed. Can only see boro going up as champions. Like Newcastle last year their team is too good.

Robbing banks is also illegal. As far as I can tell Chelsea haven't done anything illegal.

Not illegal but morally incorrect. Like a loan shark or something.

Roberty happy to carry with a debate about transfer policy if you wish. If you have a point to make (whatever it is at the moment I can't tell) put it in another thread and I'll reply to you there. I don't want to be accused of forcing my views on this thread which I understand is only for fake news about transfers
