I rarely comment on how the club manage recruiting but this seems to be the worst year ever. It probably seems that way as after last year I really thought we'd push on.

I surmised that as we're always scouting and we were so close last season, management would be immediately prepared & ready to recruit the final few incomers to secure the return dream.

It is frustrating as I cannot stop visiting the website every couple of hours for the good news but as we get closer to the first game I'm beginning to realise that if we do strengthen the team it could be too late for the players to gel.

There have been good things happen on retention but I do worry that we may have to rely on the youngsters stepping up. Youngsters with potential should be nurtured as much as possible & I worry that their development may be rushed.

Sorry for the negative vibes.

Surely we need to forget all about Rolan, I hope the club have written him off and are actively considering making an offer for another striker, one who would like to play for us.

We have, they have and the club are
Good.
It is then yet another week of expectation with probable disappointment come Friday.

This is not the "silly season" anymore!
In fact the situation regarding transfers has now become anything but amusing!

I'm sure I don't have to remind anyone that we lost four important players from our team of last season, Piazon, Kalas, Malone and Martin.

OK we all have an opinion on Martin but he filled a vital position regardless of his dedication and Piazon returns but on loan.

Add to this we have lost Parker, LVC and another striker from the bench (Cyriac) and yet so far only Cisse could be regarded as a valid addition.

I refuse to accept Djalo as a serious first team player!

I'm a sensible kinda chap and accept the need to be sustainable etc etc and of course multiple quality signings could be announced in a few days but so far this is NOT the action of a club with ambition!

I await the usual ambiguous pre season statement from the owner with a frown on my face rather than a silly grin of joy and anticipation!

We were fortunate with injuries to players last season but this can change very quickly.
Its looking to me as if the  "silly season" could well run into the proper season itself!

How much are they going to pay us to take him back ?
It could be better, but it's not a fantasy:

Don't believe a word of it.

He's wanted by Sunderland - they have no gate on their training ground to get in his way

The question mark at the end of the sentence says it all!

Haha there's absolutely no way we're having McCormack back.

Fulham should move for Blackburn keeper Jason Steele; ideal replacement for Forest target David Button

After seeing Button commit a number of high-profile blunders in short time at the club, Fulham fans would not be sorry to see him exit the club this summer.

If Button does leave for pastures new, Marcus Bettinelli will need competition for the number one jersey. Fulham would be wise to make Blackburn's Jason Steele a target.

Fulham should look to Blackburn Rovers shot-stopper Jason Steele as a potential replacement for David Button, whose future at the club still remains up in the air.

The Nottingham Post reported earlier this month, that a move for Button is being lined up by Nottingham Forest. The 28-year-old moved to Craven Cottage from Championship rivals Brentford last summer.

However, despite the West London club having an impressive campaign, Button's performances came under scrutiny. He lost his role as number one to Marcus Bettinelli, and sat on the bench for their final eight games of the 2016/17 season.

This has seen him strongly linked with a move to the City Ground. This would see Button link up with Reds boss Mark Warburton again, who he previously played under at Griffin Park.

The 26-year-old was a stand-out performer for Rovers last season but was powerless to save his side from relegation to League One. It is highly unlikely that he will be playing in England's third-tier for long, if at all.

The former England-U21 has 244 Championship appearances to his name and has been a consistent performer at that level since breaking into the Middlesbrough first-team back in 2010.

Whilst Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray will be looking to keep his best players, it is likely that he would be unable to convince Steele to ply his trade in League One, especially if a Championship club comes knocking at the door.

Fulham should be the team to swoop for Steele, and with Blackburn's financial problems well known, the Cottagers could get him at a cut-price deal.

Am happy with Ojo & Kalas coming in on loans but hope we spend the money we have a top quality striker & LB on permanent deals

westcliff white

Ojo has a choice between us, Boro, Newcastle, so we wait and see, Kalas no news anywhere eon him right now other than a new 2 year deal at Chelsea.

As for Ross, would it work? never the same second time around? he would have to stay up front and I cannot see him doing that, if he drops deep then Tom and possibly Stef would be impacted. Time to forget and move on
Every day is a Fulham day

@jolslover

I think Ojo is a good player but we don't actually need him. I think winger is the last position we need to strengthen at the moment. With 4 good wingers for 2 starting positions.

Also ross is over 28.

I know this is often repeated as fact here, but has there actually been any credible reports of this age limit?
