Man Of Men

Today we're delighted to welcome Prostate Cancer UK to Craven Cottage.

Volunteers will be collecting money outside the ground this afternoon and with your generosity will be raising vital funds to help relegate the most common cancer in men.

Fulham Head Coach Slaviša Jokanović has also been showing his support. He's joined forces with more than 30 managers to give the most vital team talks of their careers after chilling statistics showed prostate cancer kills one man every 45 minutes.

The gaffers include Burnley's Sean Dyche and Newcastle United's Rafa Benitez as well as Championship duo Simon Grayson and Dean Smith, who both have personal connections with the disease. All will also be wearing Prostate Cancer UK's iconic 'man of Men' pin badge on the touchline during the 2017/18 campaign as the leading men's charity cranks up the serious message.

Jokanović said: "It's scary to think in a game of 90 minutes that two men will die of prostate cancer. It's something we have to address and an opponent we must beat.

"I'm proud to wear my 'Man of Men' pin badge and support the great work of Prostate Cancer UK in tackling this hugely important issue.

"Football can be the great unifier and from wearing this badge, to raising crucial funds and awareness, I hope we can all lead the fightback."

Prostate Cancer UK is the Official Charity Partner of the EFL. Their "Man of Men" logo sits proudly in the squad numbers of every one of our player's shirts. It also adorns the lapels of football managers and pundits across the land.

You can get a badge like Slaviša Jokanović too. Text BADGE to 70004 to donate £5 to help stop prostate cancer being a killer (and get your own Prostate Cancer UK badge to wear with pride).*

*Text costs £5 plus network charge. Prostate Cancer UK receives 100% of your donation. Obtain bill payers permission. Customer care 0800 082 1616. Charity No 1005541.

Slavisa Jokanovic insists his Fulham players are ready for the challenge of Preston North End

Alex Neil's side come to Craven Cottage having lost just once this season but the Fulham boss believes his players will show the ambition and desire to win this afternoon

Slavisa Jokanovic insists his players are ready to push on and continue their form as Fulham take on Preston this afternoon.

The Lillywhites have lost just the once this season and currently sit in sixth place in the Championship, three points ahead of the Whites, but Jokanovic's side go into the game unbeaten in three.

Floyd Ayite looks set to return to the matchday sqaud, while there could be a place for Rafa Soares after he returned to full fitness, and the boss believes his side will show the ambition and desire to win the game at the Cottage.

He said: "We are going to show ambition and desire to win the game.

"We are going to play against a team who are in a great level of performance and have good momentum, and we are in acceptably good momentum too.

"It will be an interesting challenge and my players are ready to push hard and win the game."

Preston Preview
by Lydia on October 14, 2017

Fulham face Preston today with the aim of extending our winning run and continuing our recent mini surge up the table. The international break has been a good chance to get over some of the injuries that had been eating away at the squad so it looks as though we will be in good shape tomorrow against a team who we have recently had good results against. I decided to have a quick look though the history books to see how Fulham have fared against our northern opponents through the years.

We have played Preston North End 64 times in competitive games, with 29 of those being victories, 11 draws and 24 defeats. The sides met for the first time on the 9th November 1912 in the League Division Two with the Whites winning 3-1 at home. However, Fulham didn't taste success against Preston again until 1925, when we ended a run of 3 straight victories with a 2-1 win, again at home. Out of all the 64 matches between the two sides, only 3 of them have been goalless draws, the last one being back on the 6th October 1973 in the old Division 2. The highest scoring game was a 5-3 Fulham victory, again Division 2.

Recently, Fulham have enjoyed their games against Preston and haven't dropped a point against them in 3 games. Our most comfortable victory was just last year when we blew them away at the Cottage with a dominating display where we came out on top with a 3-1 victory. Aluko, Martin and Kebano got the goals that day while Tom Barkhuizen of Preston scored their goal.

This season has so far been really positive for Preston. They currently sit above us in 6th position with 20pts. They have been seriously strong at home with 3 wins, 3 draws and no defeats. In fact, they have only lost one game all season and that was back on the 12th August when Derby County just got the better of them 1-0 at the Pride Park. They also managed to overcome league leaders Cardiff 3-0 at home so this is not going to be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination! They have scored 13 goals so far this term, just 1 shy of our 14 while they have a much better defensive record, with just 6 goals conceded to our 10.

It's important that we continue our good form, but this will be a very tough test for our side. We are still a number of weeks from welcoming back Tom Cairney to the side but other players should be available tomorrow to give us a boost. We have dropped too many points at home this season and this has been enough for some fans to write off our promotion prospect. In my opinion, it's much too early to do that, but we need to make the Cottage into a fortress again. Hopefully the run continues tomorrow.

Adebayo penalty sees off Stoke

Fulham forward keeps composure to secure 2-1 win over Stoke in Division 2 encounter

Elijah Adebayo's penalty on the stroke of half-time gave Fulham a 2-1 win over Stoke City in Premier League 2 Division 2.

The visitors were ahead after only two minutes at Motspur Park when Daniel Jarvis struck from inside the area.

Fulham were level on 27 minutes when defender Robert Atkinson bundled the ball in from close range.

With half-time approaching Lewis Banks conceded a penalty and 19-year-old Adebayo made no mistake with the resulting spot-kick.

Tenth-placed Fulham's next PL2 match is away to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday 23 October, while Stoke, in 11th, host West Bromwich Albion three days earlier.
