Thanks for the post, that really was a good Fulham team, love to have the likes of some of those players in today's line up, Gale, Brown and Ivor in particular.
Interesting to compare Linneker and Ivor in that match, if I had to choose between the two at the time no doubt I would have gone for Ivor but of course Linneker went on to gather loads of glory.

What was really memorable about that team was it was built from virtually nothing. A bunch of youngsters, free transfers and journeymen. The Al Fayed years were great, but the team that Mac built will always be special to me.

So true but try putting a price on their heads at today's values and you would find that we just couldn't afford to buy them.
Ivor alone would be priced at about £50m I guess.
