Was expecting some reference to slaying the dragons (Welsh I.e. Cardiff)  :023:

Missed a trick there, Woolly!

Happy St Georges Day. Pity he was not English but a Roman soldier of Greek origin. Damn foreigners taking all our jobs. LOL

It's a shame as a nation we don't celebrate it more.

It did cross my mind Milo, it was tempting, but I thought I would leave the pleasure for you. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The Government need to ban the NF from using the Cross of St George as their emblem, A lot of people are put off with displaying this flag as others will assume they support the racist scum.

This is for Grandad,
I cannot see the point of bringing this up on St George's day, it's inappropriate, we are celebrating St George's day, why bring politics into it, and who are these others who may assume anything, who cares what they may or may not assume.
I have my St George's Flag on a Flag Pole all year round, in my back garden, which admittedly is a few acres. I am not put off and neither are thousands upon thousands upon thousands of others who follow England in all sports.
So I don't buy that, although there may be a timid minority who may do, but the race card is a tool of the intellectually weak and lazy, when they cannot counter a logical argument or factual data.
Who cares about what these so called some people assume.

Oh god here we go again.

This thread is the same every year.

It starts off with people wishing each other happy St. George's day. Then it degenerates into a debate over political correctness.

Who cares, most saints are foreign anyway and, after all, a saint is just a dead christian. But it is our national day, whatever it's called. I used to celebrate it by going for a curry in Brick Lane. Very traditional.

I celebrate it by supping pints 🍻 🍺 of English Bombardier, and drinking to swimming with bow legged women.

There is a Yard of Ale contest in my local this evening, I came second last year to a woman who was a member of the local arm wrestling team can you believe.
Fortunately she has moved to Devon to practice her Log Rolling.
So I may stand a chance this year, but there is plenty of good competition, and I am not the man I was.
