Not really silly season news, but Jesse Joronen, the guy thrown in and probably who's Fulham careeer was wrecked most by Felix is signing for FC Copenhagen and possible Europa League football, after a decent season at Horsens, presumably challenging Stephane Anderson for the #1 jersey with Robin Olsen linked to Liverpool among others.

I know this will be a bit controversial, however I was thinking a combination of Sess and Adomah could be an exciting prospect.  It could be that Sess would settle into the Premier League better as a wing back and I can see him working brilliantly down the left with Adomah.   Grealish and Adomah were Villas best players last season and they would both make great additions.  The price would however probably be too high.

I think we want Sess as close to the opposition box as possible, so wing back not best use of him.

Totally agree. We just need to ensure we have the right full back behind him to link with him.

Danny ings to leave Liverpool. No idea of his worth, approximately 8m according to Transfermarket.com but I think he'd be worth a contract. Although he must have inflated wages on his current contract.

If you could get a fully fit Ings then it would be worth it but he is so injury prone that I don't think he'd pass our famous medical. Would be a great player if fit though.

A hell of a striker for Burnley when he was there and would be worth a punt.

We shouldn't be "punting" on anyone. All transfers should be properly assessed; particularly if someone's on high wages they should be used, not just a squad-filler. Also, some players will have an expectation of being played.

Ings is 25 - so fits the age profile - if he's fit again - he and Mitro - will frighten a lot of defenders
It could be better, but it's not a fantasy:

RE Ings.Sign him up.Proven goalscorer.Dont think he would be too expensive either.

I presume this means that we have someone else lined up and don't want to sign him

Sky Sources understand defender Aden Flint currently undergoing a medical at Middlesbrough with a fee agreed with Bristol City. SSN are unsure how much exactly, but is understood to be around £7m.

Didn't really seem like the kind of defender that Slav fancies to be frank. Does seem to fit the mould of a Pulis team though.

I would have liked Flint as always have liked a dominant no 5.   Alongside Mitro we would be a real threat at set pieces.   Slavisa is however a slightly more sophisticated coach than one i would probably make 😜

Boro going for broke again this season with the signings, must be banking on Traore going for big bucks

It could also mean that at the moment we are just putting our toe in the water to test the market  before committing serious money to real bids. A sensible approach but just hope we are not missing out on players we really need.

I totally agree with this. However I think this position may prove to be our biggest issue going forward. To my mind we need a commanding, ball playing centre half just as much as we need a centre forward. This type of centre half is very , very rare and will cost serious money. Alfie Mawson fits the bill but would we be prepared to make such an investment ?  I'm not just for " splashing the cash " but the spine of this team will be vital for the challenges ahead. Other young candidates might be available from foreign parts but would surely be a risky bet for their first year in the Premier League ( and ours for some time )

It is a very dangerous strategy - as with Grealish & Mitro - if everyone knows the club has to sell - no one is going to pay top dollar

Today, it can be said that Clément Grenier has perfectly succeeded his bet. He had decided to leave Olympique Lyonnais and lower his salary to sign at Guingamp . His goal was to have time to play in the eye of a club more upscale.

Today, it's all good for him because seven clubs would make him look sweet. According to L'Equipe , these are Rennes, Fenerbahce, Fulham, Villarreal, Newcastle, Fulham and AC Milan.

Regarding his future, he decided to take his time so as not to relive the same experience as at AS Roma.
