The Official Silly Season Summer Transfer Thread 2018/19

So, here it is Ladies and Gentleman, the one you've all been waiting for, The Official Silly Season Summer Transfer Thread 2018/19.

Please use this thread to post any transfer rumours that maybe flying around on social media, the press, or from reporters.

This thread is always intended to be a bit of fun, however, we all know there will be a lot of rubbish, rehashed reports flying around, so please read everything with a pinch of salt.

Marcel_Gecov

I believe so actually. How long before the first Sess or Cairney rumour comes along?

Let's get in the premiership first. Then the rumours might be more interesting

FULHAM SET TO BATTLE WITH SERIE A SIDE IN PURSUIT OF IN-DEMAND MIDFIELDER

Fulham are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Auxerre midfielder Ousoumane Camara this summer, according to reports emerging from France.

French media outlet France Football is reporting that Fulham are joined by a number of European clubs in the hunt for Camara, who will be available on a free transfer this summer when his contract expires with Auxerre.

Serie A side Genoa – who are set to finish in mid-table in the Italian top tier – are also keen on the midfielder with Belgian outfit Sint-Truidense V.V. reportedly set to make a move too.

Camara is yet to make his first-team debut for Auxerre – who finished 11th in Ligue 2 – but he is the captain of their reserve side.

But with the 19-year-old's contract coming to an end, Fulham could make a move for him, although they face competition from Genoa, Sint-Truidense and a number of Ligue 2 sides.

Fulham are currently vying for a spot in the Premier League as they go through the Championship play-offs, having fallen just short of automatic promotion on the final day of the season.

The Cottagers trail Derby County by one goal going into the second leg at Craven Cottage and they face an uphill task to reverse the deficit and book their place in the final at Wembley.

The Verdict

Camara is highly-rated in France but he lacks first-team experience.

If he arrived at Fulham, he would definitely go straight into the academy set-up rather than compete for a first-team spot.

But on a free transfer and regarding him as one for the future, this is a low risk move which could pay off long-term.

We seem to go through phases of only buying players with the same name though so this is probably a fair shout. Albeit I'm not sure I can recognise it as it's too early to be thinking transfers until we know which league we will be in!

Fernhurst

Is it time for transfer rumours?????

Of course it is !!!!

If we lose the final it will be dispiriting and if we win so exciting.
Premier League is world class and our recruitment also needs to be.

Currently swinging wildly between, absolute pessimisism and fantastic optimism.

Do not think we are set up to be - score and shut up shop but they might be...... 4-0 by ht would be nice lads.

The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.

What do you think is our priority? For me it's signing Mitro, LB, CB, and RW.

What we need / Who we sign depends if we go up or down

It is too early. First we must wait the outcome of the play-off final.
If we stay in the championship than we must build again a new team. But if we go up than we are an attractive club to join. And to hold on our best players

VERY DAFT AND A LOT DAFTER THAN I SEEM, SOMETIMES

Not often  we agree Jols, but spot on there, our club needs to have an A and  B transfer plan.

Twig

It's only 8 days, both we and the club can wait on the outcome.

filham

All minds have to be concentrated on Wembley , forget transfers until after that match.

bobby01

BBC website has released lists appearing, could be interesting
Watching the ups and downs since 1958, wouldn't have it any other way, what a roller coaster of a club.

Mince n Tatties

Matty Smith to Barnsley.
Grealish to Wolves.
Talksport.

Woolly Mammoth

It's going to be a very interesting summer, with speculation almost every day as the season approaches.
At the moment I just cannot get yesterday's scenes out of my mind. I cannot take anything else in, let's enjoy these moments, they don't come round too often.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.

Fernhurst

Three or four world class signings we give us a stable base in The Prem.

I do have my thoughts on where we need to strengthen, but today must be the day we celebrate with this fabulous group of players.
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.
