One is a PL veteran who has performed for years now, and the other has less than 50 first team appearances and half a good season in the championship.

Bertrand all day - almost certainly rubbish though as he is after a move to a "big" club by the sounds of things. A move to Fulham is sideways at best. Maybe just a tactic to encourage them to let Targett go - or (more likely IMO) the usual Twitter nonsense.

Fulham are interested in signing former Newcastle right-back Kevin Mbabu from Swiss club Young Boys.

The 23-year-old joined Newcastle in 2013 and made just three league appearances for the Magpies before returning to his native Switzerland.

His performances have since attracted interest from a number of clubs and Fulham are ready to hand him the chance of a return to England.

The Whites have been looking for a right-back since losing Ryan Fredericks to West Ham.

They have made an approach for Mbabu but are yet to submit a formal bid.

Not being funny, but Bertrand will either go for a bigger club than Saints or sign a a new bumper contract.....I don't imagine theres much fruit to it but happily be wrong! Given that we've spend so many pages on "squad size" - the interesting thing from this article is - Everton must also reduce the size of their squad and following the departures of Joel Robles, Ramiro Funes Mori, Wayne Rooney and Luke Garbutt, on loan, are looking to move on more players before the end of August.

So not only have they moved on 4 players and brought in no one - they still have a bucket full of players to move on

We now have an acadamy with decent young players coming through. Should we buy players we totally block their route to the first team and get peanuts for them. I would by happy to sign our loaners from last year plus a couple more

We certainly do seem to have a great Academy.
Only thing is how many of them make into the team for very long or at all.
I'm sure there's a lot more over the last few years.
Dembele, Roberts,  Woodrow, Plumain, Donnelly, Evans, Briggs, Banya, George Williams,
Kavanagh,  Hyndman, Arthurworrey,  with only Betts and Sess making an impact

There's a big difference talking to a cub vs talking to a player and having a bid accepted.. which seems to be the difference between a lot of articles.. that said Liverpool echo and Bordeaux local paper both say they're not in discussions... more believable if both local papers say nothing is going on..
