blake was the best penalty taker i hav seen ...norwood and berba run him close but blake is the one i would choose if it was only ever one.

Lock....gale... adams

Glad you mentioned Tony Gale.  I obviously remember Micky Adams very well as a player but strangely I can't particularly recall his dead ball skills.  Did he take corners?

i was never a great fan of micky adams as a player but do remember that from free kicks he was amazing. he hit the ball low hard and straight as I recall and very accurate. i cannot recall if he took corners because that is a bit of a different skill.

in the macdonald years i remember that lock and gale were deadly with free kicks, one using his left foot the other the right. we have had a few that have been good since but those three were the most consistent in my memory. bullard was ok but eratic, lock, gale and adams always seemed to hit the target and if they didn't score at least made the goalkeeper work hard.
