Lineup for Watford

If Cairney is ready, this is the lineup I would use:

If not, then I would play in 4-2-3-1 formation:

Think we should try Odoi at rb. He is fast and he can't be worse at crossing than Christie. MLM should return to the starting eleven, as I believe he is our best defender atm.

I think Mensah is our best right back, Odoi never impressed there. Mensah just needs to defend a bit smarter.

Christie is the better player going forward. His final ball is poor but at least he dies get into the positions to cross. Would still play Odoi and Mawson in the middle with Bryan coming in on the left.

Midfield Seri and Zamb will start. Cairney I think will still be out which leaves Mac or Johanson. I don't go along with the constant criticism of Johanson not being Prem Quality. He was awful against City but then that is hardly a fair comparison on one game.

I think the formation is more important than who plays.
I would play 5-3-2 for the  first half at least.
Watford  are a bullying, wide /  long ball playing team...
3  at the back will not work.

Start by keeping  them out and see where we are after 45  mins.

Up to now his final ball has been poor but then I cannot think of any player who has passed consistently well. By being able to cross chances are he will find a Fulham player eventually. Especially if we try and support a little better. Joka himself said on Saturday we were shy. I think we have played a bit like that so far this season. We are a little anxious and shy. But Christie has shown he can get into positions.

This team looks good, fosu-mensah and bryan are our best full back options and Sess deserves a start, he looked our most capable player against city.

I think we should go back to a 4-4-2 set up as our full backs are being left very exposed by our current formation.
Last season we enjoyed attacking wing backs in Fredericks and Targett with cover provided by Sess and Ayite / Kebano when under attack.
I think Mitro and Schurrle can provide the fire power up front.
Therefore I would go with;
