Bolton defender Stephen Darby has been forced to retire from professional football after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease, He is only 29 and is married to Womens Football Captain Steph Haughton.

I am sure football fans everywhere wish his family, friends and fans all the very best in the future. When a tragedy hits the football community. We all come together.

Tragic - one moment your life is on track and then it is all taken away from you. What a terrible disease. The poor man.

Very tragic and shocking for him and his family and friends. For that to happen to anyone, let alone at such an early age.
So that certainly puts so much into perspective about football and life itself.
