Up through the playoffs

Seeing as we came up through the playoffs it's not surprising we are the worst team in the league.

We need to get some new faces in in January but the problem is we will then need time to gell.. it's going to be a very tough end to the season. Hopefully we get some luck.
I was there, standing in the Putney end

We need The right kind of players who relish a battle, from within this League, and not the choice of the stats merchants who are the weakest link, but the choice of the manager. The manager needs the financial backing of the owner, and we need a lot of effort a lot of luck and a lot of commitment, from every player, new and not so new.

I can't buy into this theory.

We only finished a point behind Cardiff and they played some horrible football throughout last season.

We have been punished for trying to play the beautiful game in a league that doesn't allow any room for errors.

But Cardiff kept their promotion squad. They have the team spirit to fight 90 mins for every point. We relied on loans to get promoted, lost several key players from our promotion squad, had a poor but costly summer transfer window, unsettled the squad with all the late additions and didn't even have a back four until the last minute of the transfer window, two days before the start of the season. I didn't expect us to be at the bottom of the table in December but I'm not surprised either. I still think we can turn this around but anything less than 3 points against West Ham and we're in serious trouble.

Statto

We were third because we started poorly. For the majority of the season we were much better than Cardiff and at least as good as Wolves. We consistently looked much better than Cardiff, and also Wolves in the Cottage fixture.

The quantity and scale of ****-ups in the summer window it has taken for us to spend £100m and still end up worse than Cardiff, who signed basically no one, and Wolves, who just signed a new keeper, cannot be overstated.

As a Cardiff fan I quite like Fulham but it is a tad amusing to read so many posts about you being so much better than us. We may very well exchange places in the coming months but  we finished above you last season and we are currently above you this season. Funnily enough, in recent seasons I felt that your team had something we lacked (a good passing game) but we have something you lack (a more direct approach up front as well as sheer graft).

So you would have had Johansen and McDonald in midfield yesterday, and Ream and Odoi at the back, is that your logic?

So right, surely the stats based selection of players after the recent failures is now dead and buried and will only be used as a manager tool if needed.

Ranieri with aid and advice from his assistance and scouts must select new players.

At least I think 3 of the players you mentioned are much more suitable for a relegation fight.

Odoi is a regular starter anyway and has been one of our best players this season IMO. Always gives 100%.

Seri just gets worse every game and looks like he has no interest in being here.  I wouldn't mind replacing him with Johansen at all. Get a bit of passion and fighting spirit back into the team.

Anguissa... I would replace him with ANYONE. He has looked completely out of his depth in every game he's played. I would prefer Chambers but if he isn't available then yes, KMac would be an improvement at this point IMO.

But I don't think the main problem is the quality of the players. Our situation became hopeless when we had around 10 players in our first team squad going into July. We might as well have cancelled pre-season and just told the players to return the day before Palace. Because that's practically what happened anyway. Half of our squad are new players that arrived FAR too late. Several of our promotion players lost their place in the starting eleven to new faces who had been at the club for about 3 seconds. No wonder there's a lack of team spirit. The recruitment team should be sacked ASAP.

Woolly Mammoth

Our whole preseason was farcical, and run by amateurs , and we have been witnessing the fall out since the commencement of the season. I have said this so many times before, we have currently no heart beat, and without a heart beat we are going back down.

Well I would have left Ream on the bench but the other three yes. Odoi is a no brainier, StefJo and K Mac could not be worse than Zambo and Seri.
