Capitulate and sell our best players preparing for the Championship.

Frustration is rife if your a Fulham supporter. Yesterdays defeat to Burnley was a travesty of justice in many ways. The team is clearly lacking in belief and also feel the frustration but put in a decent performance , along with the usual array of mistakes (and bad luck ) which cost us ,once again ,dearly.
We lack strength ,leadership and defensive quality at the back and have an array of players in and out of the team that have no experience of the premier league and are probably not good enough for the highest level. Its evident to most that the team needs strengthening to have any chance of survival ,and although no signings have been made to date ,for whatever reason, there are still 16 matches left to play. Should we capitulate and start preparing for the championship ?
Never. Never in a million years will people who have played or been involved in the game adopt this kind of standpoint. Why would they ? The consequencies of such a policiy from the people running the club would have a catastrophic effect for many years to come. The achievemnets of last season would suddenly become worthless, and the never say die attitude and culture which can take years to build up at any club would not only be devastatingly lost, but also near impossible to get back.
Fans deal with their emotions in different ways ,but accepting relegation as innevitable at this point is not only a huge folly but also the biggest disservice we can do the club we all love.

Very well said Colin.
This is the sort of spirit  we need right now, not the  'give up an prepare for the Championship'  naysayers.

If we go down, we should at least go down fighting, battling every inch of the way, with, hopefully some  good new signings to help us.

At games, fans should be singing and cheering their hearts out to urge the team on, as fans of  such teams as Hudd's and Burnley and Palace would be.

Agree.  I was very despondent yesyerday and was giving up completely.  But a new dawn, another look at the table, seeing the gap is only 5 points, realising we have 16 games left, hearing of new arrivals, I'm up for the fight again.

Well, at least  until we go 2 down at home to Spurs next week .

I doubt anyone at the club is going to give up, and I guarantee the players want to win every game but we are going down.

We've shown over 22 games how poor we are, and we really are poor, so certainly wouldn't do any harm for the club to put proper plans in place behind the scenes for the championship next season.

Anyone with even a cursory knowledge of Fulham will recall many Great Escapes from relegation over the years, including several in the 1960s right up until Uncle Roy's achievement a few years ago. It's in the club's DNA for God's sake! There's plenty of time yet......

Holders

No, of course not. Would we accept the players giving up from here on in?

Yesterday's result was awful but all is not lost yet, however difficult the task, though much depends on January recruitment.

To be honest it's all a bit of a false dichotomy for a number of reasons

Firstly half our players "capitulated" around last September. So asking whether some of them should/will capitulate now is a bit of a moot point.

Again, if we were to sell some of those players now, Seri, Anguissa, Schurrle, would it make us any weaker? Not Really. Even Cairney doesn't seem up for it and the manager seems reluctant to play Sessegnon, so I think the only departure that would make us a much weaker team would be Mitrovic.

Then in terms of who we buy, well we can no longer afford to spend much. And we're probably only going to be able to attract very poor PL players or very good Championship players, but really there's an overlap between the divisions and not much difference between the two. So really we don't really have two transfer strategies to choose between, just one, forced upon us whether we want it or not.

A sh1t state of affairs but it is what it is.

Losing by only 2 would be a great result 086.gif

I was thinking we'd be two down about halfway through the first half, at which point I will be back on here capitulating like crazy.
