Being described as "World Class" on Sky, and yet no mention of the Odoi pass to Schurrle on Saturday which was even better, in fact it hasn't even been mentioned on here, why ?
If Cairney or Sessegnon had delivered it there would have been pages on it, sad but true.

Absolutely right. Seeing the pass again it was world class. That's what Odoi can bring if we have the runners.

Because his name is not Pogba or play for Manure

Sadly she wasn't

I don't recall Sascha Riether getting too many accolades for his ball for Kasami's wondergoal. The reality is that in both cases, but for some unbelievable control and finishing from the receiving player, they would be forgotten instantly.

But I agree that generally a great goal is hyped much more when it is scored by a great player. I cite Simon Davies' superb goal against Hamburg, while Mo Salah's good but not great goal won the Puskas award last year.

The Pogba pass was brilliant, and the receiving player could take it right in stride and close for the score.

The Odoi pass (and it was very, very good, btw) took a spectacular receipt on Schurrle's part, and he controlled for the tally.  But many times you see those passes just go unfulfilled because of the degree of difficulty to receive/control the pass.  And I don't think had TC/Sess delivered there would have been any surplus banter.

That's a fair point. Maybe we should give him credit simply for seeing the pass, even if it wasn't as good as Pogba's.
