Think he might just be one of them signings that happens at some clubs, where fans are not too happy with, but actually turns out in the end to be a first class signing.
Has experience at top level with Benfica,Fenerbahce, and even though not in Liverpool first team he will be well up to lower premier standard.
Might surprise some people including me.
Welcome Lazar. 049:gif 049:gif 049:gif

I think hes a good skillful player. I know people wanted a CB/RB so are comparing him to that, But I would rather have him than nothing.
I've read positive reviews from Hull fans. There's a reason Liverpool paid 20m for him in 2014 when 20m was still a lot of money.

The move to us just might kickstart  his career.

So is he an upgrade on the loaned out AK, who he presumably replaces in our squad ?
It could be better but it's real life and not a fantasy

Partizan is my fave domestic club and Lazar Markovic, Mitro and Andrija Zivkovic are probably my favorite Partizan players in the last 10 years.

Markovic was actually a better player than Mitro those seasons when they started professional carrers, was equally good at Benfica and then lost the plot at Liverpool. Shame and I bloody hope he makes for it at the Cottage.

2017–18: Loan to Anderlecht   Edit
In January 2018, Marković again moved out on loan joining Belgian First Division A side R.S.C. Anderlecht for the second half of the 2017–18 season.[41][42] It was admitted that upon Marković's arrival his fitness and condition was so poor that he would miss up to six weeks of game time in order to get up to standard.[43]

He is fit for retirement...or Saudi Arabia and Mexico, which is pretty much the same. Might as well have signed a cleaning lady. Could have a future in futsal though. Maybe Tony Khan is considering starting a futsal team, after wrestling. That would explain this signing. Or maybe he was signed because of the raising of Lazarus biblical story (not sure if TK is aware of that one), a symbolic fight against relegation? Either way, I find no football explanation for this transfer.

Welcome Lazar to football alongside the Thames.

Positive as always. Awesome.

As always (Almeida)? Just realistic, I'm afraid.

Well he's worth a throw of the dice on a free transfer.

I note the club were quick to quote Mitrovic as the main reason they brought him in - passing the buck early!

However, that said, perhaps Markovic will run himself into the ground to repay Mitrovic.

Retirement?! Hahaha he's 24.

No transfer that comes with (significant) wages is a free transfer (unless he is playing for free).

Beg to reconsider. His fitness was described by Anderlecht (his last team), as being at the level of a 40-year old player. On top of that, he has flopped at every other team except Benfica and Partizan. Yes, his mindset and fitness make him fit for retirement..regardless of what his birth certificate says.

HamsterWheel

He had a few good games for Liverpool, but has been unwanted for eons.
He now has only a few months more of a very lucrative contract before he has to go out and find a new club. His performance at Fulham will thus decide his future. Hopefully at 24 he'll still have some desire and will prove the doubters (I'm one!) wrong.

He did however play for Anderlecht after he got fit (scored as well) and if I am not mistaken they put in an offer for him which fell apart at the last minute due to the player not agreeing terms. We all know its a risk but lets not crucify the guy before he kicks a ball for us.

Hopefully the Serbian connection with Mitro will work some magic, deffo worth a go.

The guys been almost lost to football when he was seriously rated when he was 18-19. I have just been checking out a few of his videos an in one interview when he was going to Anderlecht I think, he was saying how he had a friend from the Serbian team playing in Belgium which would be good.

The guys seems to have lost much confidence as a young guy being shipped around to foreign countries and maybe the link up with Mitro could be a huge thing.

Or.maybe not.

bencher

Let's face it, at Fulham we specialise in rejuvenating flagging careers. Our big money deals rarely if ever work out well for us. But we've done well over the years with Damian Duff, Danny Murphy, Bobby Zamora, Edwin van der Sar, Mitrovic, early days but Babel is looking promising, etc. This type of signing fits right into that mould. Obviously there's no guarantee, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt and hope for his and our sakes that this is one we will be able to add that list.
