Wagner the manager who got promoted with a negative goal difference, no thanks

Agree
They were rubbish and didnt deserve to go up or stay up
Sooo much worse than us under Jokanovic, hence we absolutely spanked them when we played them

A lie. They managed to survive their 1st season.

Dont call me a liar please tw@t. I know they  stayed up their first season. But they were sh1te for most of it and scraped through with 37pts, thanks to a good August.

And we're going down with a lower points total. They also got promoted in less time, with a far worse side. Grow up.

Wagner will be disappointed when he's told we have to sell Mitro.

They had Wells and Kachunga up front when we had Chris Martin in 16/17 so I'd query how much worse that team was than ours. And they only got one more point than us that year, when as others have said, we beat them 9-1 over two games. The following year we went went up with substantially more points than that, and of course we'll also get more points than them this season, despite them spending £80m+ and having an extra year to build a team.

Jokanovic > Wagner

Goodnight

Jokanovic > Wagner

Goodnight

Jokanovic had a PL record of 0.4 points per PL game.
Wagner had a PL record of 0.8 points per PL game.

Chris Martin, along with Kalas, McDonald, Johansen, Cairney, Aluko and Sessegnon.

We went up with substantially more points, via the same Playoff method.

We beat them 9-1 over 2 years ago. They beat us 2.5 months ago.

We spent 100m, and Jokanovic neglected 2 of our best players.

Jokanovic was sacked. Wagner resigned.

1 has tasted PL survival. 1 hasn't.

Wagner > Jokanovic.

Goodnight.

Sample size of 12 games? Get some brains pls.

Only one of the players you mentioned is getting regular PL football. Not really sure how this is supposed to support your argument.

Oh and 9-1 is better than 1-0.

He resigned when they were bottom with 1 point from their last 10 games. Come on mate you're having a laugh now.

Yep, again, we know that part.

It's Jokanovic's fault he only had a sample size of 12 games.

This famously poor Huddersfield side still beat us.

Substantially more points removed from the context that I stated if in.

We spent MORE money than them across 1 season instead of 2.

So you agree that Jokanovic failed as a PL manager? As he could only last 12 games.

Far, far superior manager to Jokanovic. Have him 100%.

Your running squabble with Statto is not my business but I really can't see how you can argue that SJ is a lesser talent than Wagner.  SJ develops a far more attractive and ambitious playing style. One that, with the right personnel, has the  potential to succeed at the highest level. You couldn't say that for Huddersfield's style under Wagner, no matter who they might have bought or how much they might have spent (even in some fantasy dreamland). I am not diminishing his achievements but, better than SJ? No way.

ByTheRiver

I would agree that Jokanovic is better than Wagner. I think that much is clear (certainly potential wise, given that there isn't really a fair measure to compare them on), the problem is... Thanks to the Khans and the doughnuts in our fanbase (and on here) who called for his head after 12 games with a team of strangers (and the same ridiculous defence that we now have confirmed beyond all doubt as being far from good enough at the level), is he won't come back. Of course he won't. No chance.

So we have to put him to one side and look beyond. Who else? I, for one, would not be against Wagner. Certainly above Bruce and all the usual suspects.

I suspect no amount of facts or persuasion will change your view on whether Huddersfield had a much worse squad than us in the Championship, whether £100m vs £80m is a substantial difference, whether it is significant that Wagner resigned before he got sacked, whether 12 games is a useful sample size and so on. So I won't go there anymore.

One thing I will concede is that in the 3 seasons they've been in the same division, their points records are broadly similar.

In head to head matches by my count they've played each other 5 times, with 3 wins for Fulham, 1 win for Huddersfield and 1 draw, and an aggregate score of 11-3 to Fulham.

A) I preferred you before your 'current avatar' which is, of itself, a complete untruth.
B) Wagner resigned under mutual consent saying he needed a 'break from football'.  He offered his employer what remained of the season but they agreed that there were strong personal reasons for the break.  He wasn't sacked.
C) Jokanovic was sacked when his PPG record was not much different from that when he first arrived.  At that stage he was slightly less successful than Symons, but we all know how his PPG changed in the two full seasons he had.  Ranieri's PPG is not much better than SJ's in the PL either and certainly nowhere near enough to stop relegation.  Does that suggest the team might be a disaster looking for a manager to happen or would you prefer to twist it around in your usual fashion to suit your own opinion?
D) I'd prefer Jokanovic as a manager to Ranieri or Wagner simply because he is a better coach than either of the others.

The Old Count

Between Joka and Wagner I'd choose Joka - no brainer. But Joka won't come back.

What about Roy and Ray after they leave Palace at the end of the season??
