38yo Peter Crouch.
He would have terrorized them in that wind today, high balls pumped into the box hanging in the wind. :drums:

What  is the point of this post ?

The point is its not just the defence,we needed a back up striker in as well, and on a 6 month contract regardless of his age he can still perform.
Not just in the air,for a big man his first touch and lay off passes are superb.
Came on for Burnley first game last ten mins and won them a penalty.

If we had signed him Clownio would have played him on the wing or right back.

Some truth in this. Once we went behind to utd, our attacking threat diminished rapidly. In the second half, despite Ranieri's attempt to change shape, we never threatened.
Up against a team of top quality internationals, we are never going to pass our way through them.  They sat back, maintained shape, and picked us off on the counter.
A big aerial threat,  Crouch like player, gives us an option and some chance of getting the ball into the opposition area.
Not pretty, but watching our team being completely outclassed and handing United the easiest six points they will pick up all season, well that's not pretty either.

Agreed but neither the owner or the owners son have ever heard of him, but ask them if they have heard of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy, and they would be on their feet whooping and hollering surrounded by cheer leaders.

Yes/No/possibly but if we fail to get quality crosses in or simply bombard the box using the weather conditions like we did today then he will be a spectator most of the time. We really have no plan, style of play or match savvy these days.

Sadly true.  I was a fan of PC, for such a tall guy he had great feet and ball control that was much underrated. But the service into the box was poor again today. We are so deep that the opposition always have 10 behind the ball when we finally get forward and our attacks just break down.
