Club Goalkeepers

[Stoneleigh Loyalist]

The club may be having a depressing time but outside the top three choices how rich we are at present with goalkeeping talent.

Norman and Rodak playing league football and at junior level we have the two Ashby-Hammonds and Wickens playing at youth international level.

The problem is that at sometime in the future we are going to have difficult decisions to make as it will not be possible for all of these to remain with the club.

Let us hope that the right decisions are made.

I would not call it nonsense - you think he is a perfectly decent keeper, while other people do not rate him that highly.

Personally I don't think an England call-up is anything special these days. The current team is two or three whole levels down in quality from where it was 15-20 years ago. This generation won't win a thing at international level, no chance.

So I don't rate necessarily rate Bettinelli or Forster. But I doubt there's much between them.

Meanwhile Southhampton have got Charlie Austin up front and their best player is James Ward Prowse. So I'm sorry but they're as crap as we are if not worse.

On the subject of Norman and Rodák, Rochdale fans think Norman's rubbish and Rotherham fans think Rodák's class.

I've been impressed by Rodak every time I watched him. He is our future number one imo

If you like whoscored GK stats Rodak is averaging a 6.65 this season, Betts got a 6.79 last season and Betts/Rico got a 6.45 this season.
