Ryan Babel appreciation

Since arriving, he has been easily our best attacking threat. Very fit and physical for his age, and a player who I would definitely try and keep for next season.

More so than Cairney and Sessegnon. Mainly because Cairney will think he's better than he is, and will probably want to stay in the PL. And Sessegnon only has 1 year left on his contract, and will be too much of a financial risk to keep.

Don't think Babel will be with us next season unfortunately, didn't rate him the first few games but probably the nearest thing that we have to being a PL player except maybe Mitro.

Really happy with him but bloody hell celebrate the goal.

You were not a cult hero or a legend at Liverpool, more of a laughing stock by most of their fans

Horsfield_No9

Agree. Consistent from day 1, has a Premier League/Athlete shape and size to him that really not many at all of our squad have. Has been excellent, works hard and looks our best attacking outlet/threat time after time. We were all quick to judge him before he even kicked a ball for us but pretty much looks like our only Prem quality player (sadly).
First game: Fulham 4 Burnley 0, December 12th 1998.

Correct.
Stupid nonsense not celebrating.

Really hoping he stays along with mitro, doubt we will keep sess but hope he stays.TC not sure he's done enough for PL stay but not really worried about him as O'Riley is good enough to step up as is a lot of younger guys coming through.

Clearly we have had disappointing matches and we are a poor premier league team. But that doesn't mean some of our team aren't good enough. The displays against Spurs, Chelsea and yesterday show that some can indeed perform at this level. Organization and concentration (ie individual errors) have been our issues, and these have cost us many points this year.

For me, like Cairney he doesn't defend enough....always been  good going forward

Steeeeeeeeeed

I understand the Not Celebrating thing, especially if he does go to China or America in the summer and will want to promote his time at Liverpool as part of his 'CV'.

However, it's kind of 'Fulhamish' that what could have been the spur for our best result of the season, was completely dampened down by it being scored by a Liverpool.old boy.

Imagine if it was Sess or Cairney that scored, and they went bonkers and roused up the crowd, could have been a great last 20 minutes.

Anyhow, Babel has been a good addition to the team for sure.

Milo

If he stays, could be very handy indeed and be a big threat in the CS.

However, wouldn't be still going for any potential return to the PS so we have to factor that in alongside any loans we get as holes that would need to be replaced should we go up.

Ronnief

Babel should be told to get rid of his red dyed hair. Does he still think he is a Liverpool player? Whilst playing for Fulham perhaps he should dye it black and white.

filham

Babel is by far the most effective player we have signed this season, hope we can persuade him to sign at the end of the season as he could bother defences in the championship.

I'd go for Chamber's - been with us through thick & thin all season....shame he'll go back in the summer

no one is going to offer us big money for him this summer, precisely because he only has 1 yr left on his contract, so the downside risk is limited anyway

Still can easily demand £20-£30m this summer if he wishes to leave.

Agreed.  Sadly he won't stay long.

SP

Pool fans seem to think Babel was reluctant to score as he is a fan & didn't want to derail their charge to the runners-up spot?

I just cannot comprehend why he did not celebrate, who the hell does he thinks pay his wages.
