Chinese National Team Player -Wu Lei

Was reading something about a struggling La Liga team who have bought a Chinese National Team Player. He played in a relegation battle match and scored the goal that eased the pressure. They are a small Catalan team compared to Barcelona - which has 500,000 Chinese Nationals there.

Here is the twist, shirt sales have obviously increased and there has been a lot of press interest. When he scored during the week to move the score from a very twitchy 2-1 to a more comfortable 3-1, the biggest cheer came not from the Stadium but thousands of miles away where an estimated 25m (40m for his debut in February) people watched it live in their living rooms across China.

There is massive money to be made here and La Liga seems to have stolen a march on the EPL, where live Sky and BT games attract around 500,000 audiences.

I think maybe Fulham's next signing should be a top Chinese Player and for us to strike an exclusive deal to beam all our home games at least, directly back to China - as long as the player is quality, remains fit and speaks reasonably good English what do we have to lose.

The player is called Wu Lei and is playing for Espanyol and cost them £1.8m in January - yes £1.8m! I think that audience will rise considerably - it does have a population of 1.4 billion!

P.s.They played Barcelona today and lost 2-0 with late second half goals from Messi, the player was a sub and played in the second half on the wing!

Not a bad theory - however the problem lies in this paragraph.....

'I think maybe Fulham's next signing should be a top Chinese Player and for us to strike an exclusive deal to beam all our home games at least, directly back to China - as long as the player is quality, remains fit and speaks reasonably good English what do we have to lose. '

Our DOF has a blind spot when it comes to 'quality' 'fitness' and speaking the mother tongue. As the song says 2 out of 3 aint bad but he invariably records a blank on all three

With regard to 'what have we to lose ' we'll this year it's been our best manager as well as our Premier League spot. If he is still running the football side next season then don't be surprised if we lose our Championship standing.

TK must be told by Dad to go and play exclusively with AEW and leave us alone.

Get in a proper DOF, bring back Slavisa - sorry Scott but I bleed black and white you never will!

Drop kick Talbot&Son into Old Father Thames and then quickly move for Johnny Yems who Bournemouth unceremoniously sacked yesterday, before somebody moves in for him!

Job done!!! 049:gif 049:gif

it wasnt yesterday he was sacked

Bournemouth said in a statement: "We can confirm John Yems, left the club at the end of June 2018, upon the expiry of his contract and following a review of the role.

Espanyol them being the "other" team in Barcelona....we are currently struggling to be a team of any kind - like the idea of Chinese money, but not sure Mr Khan has that option in his stats based nonsense.....by the way the Espanyol stadium is very fine

..FOF..

Proper scouting will be needed.

Cultural differences, weather, work etiquette, etc will cause most Asian players needing a lot of time to settle down.

Most that can make it our leagues have already assimilated in Europe but by then the price tag of the proven ones would have jumped to around 8 figures.

Put him up next to battersea dogs home and his take away will be on his doorstep.

Forget it, madness, football is really going to the dogs with these proposterus ideas.
Especially when we have our own talent on our doorstep, never forget your roots.

As someone who has a bit of knowledge about the chinese leagues, the problem will always be the quality. The national team is in a bit of turmoil and just got turned over at a recent friendly tournament. They do have fabio cannavaro at the helm although he also manages a club side over here at the same time. Best bet would be to sign a rising star and have him in the youth team to get some notoriety going, i fear a senior player would be out of his depth in the championship. Gone are the days of li tie and sun jihai!
