Huddersfield Town's Christopher Schindler wants to catch Fulham because 'we are better, I am convinced'

If Town beat Leicester on Saturday they will move off the foot of the table for the first time in 2019

Huddersfield Town captain Christopher Schindler has a clear aim for the last six games of the Premier League season - to catch Fulham.

The German centre back said Town's players still have motivation to win games, despite relegation being confirmed at Crystal Palace last Saturday.

"We have our pride," he asserted. "We want to catch Fulham because we are better, I am convinced."

Fulham's own relegation was confirmed just two days after Town's, following a 4-1 loss at Watford.

The London club are on 17 points, three ahead of the Terriers, but they have played a game more than Jan Siewert's side.

As it stands they have a worse goal difference than Town so if Schindler and his teammates were to win their game in hand they would move above their rivals into 19th.

Fulham do not play again until Everton visit Craven Cottage on Saturday April 13.

That means if Town beat Leicester at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday, they will move off the foot of the table for the first time in 2019.

Schindler, 28, continued: "We don't want to be where we are now.

"It's hard to accept - now talking about it as well - if you are competitive over the majority of the games against Premier League teams it's hard to have 14 points.

"We want to do better than that, we want to collect as many points in the last six games as we possibly can."

Tottenham must pay £15m extra for Ryan Sessegnon, he could soon be worth £100m

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Fulham ace.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Fulham are demanding £40 million for the services of Ryan Sessegnon, with Tottenham only prepared to pay £25 million, but the north London outfit must surely bite the bullet, and pay whatever it takes to sign the 18-year-old this summer.

Sessegnon has struggled in the Premier League this season, but that has mostly be down to the poor quality of Fulham's play, and he has still shown glimpses of what an exciting talent he is.

The left footed teen can play anywhere from left-back to the left-wing position, and he undoubtedly has the talent to go on and become a real star within the game.

And missing out on his signature for a measly £15 million would be unforgivable from a Tottenham perspective.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino hasn't spent a penny since signing Lucas Moura from PSG in January 2018, and that surely has to change this summer, if the north London outfit are to make the step up to the next level.

And Sessegnon would be the ideal signing for Tottenham.

If he continues to improve, he could easily go on to become a £100 million player, and he could be Mauricio Pochettino's new version of Gareth Bale.

Tottenham always run a tight ship, but this time, they must go the extra mile, and do what it takes to bring in the supremely talented Fulham ace.

They might just live to regret it if they don't.

Report: Spurs only willing to pay £25m for £40m target

Tottenham Hotspur have been long-term admirers of Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon, pre-dating his move into the Premier League this season.

Sessegnon set the Championship on fire last season with his goals, pace, and assists, but has struggled to adapt to Prem life since the club's promotion.

Fulham have now already been confirmed as relegated this season, meaning it may become far easier for Spurs to pry the teenager away.

This is especially true after Fulham spent over £100m in the summer to prepare for a Premier League survival push.

Fulham are said to be demanding £40m for the promising youngster, but after failing to live up to the bill in the top flight, Spurs and Levy are said to only be willing to part with £25m (Daily Mail).

Sessegnon also only has 12 months left on his contract, and Spurs could smell an opportunity for a bargain, however, Manchester United and PSG are both said to also be interested.

Fulham value Spurs, Manchester United target Ryan Sessegnon at £40m?

Fulham have reportedly decided that they are willing to sell Ryan Sessegnon for a fee of £40m.

Sessegnon is regarded as one of the top prospects in English football, but the left-sided player has just over one year remaining on his contract.

Fulham's relegation to the Championship effectively leaves the Cottagers in a position where they must cash in on their most prized asset during the summer transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, the West Londoners are prepared to sell the 18-year-old for £40m as they look to raise funds after their immediate return to the second tier.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have both been linked with a move for the England Under-21 international, with the latter said to be leading the race for the teenager's signature.

Report: Everton join race to sign £60,000-a-week Premier League striker

Everton have joined the race to sign Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to Serbian news publication Zurnal.

The Toffees have joined the likes of Southampton, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land the 24-year-old in the summer.

The Fulham attacker, who is on the £60,000-a-week at Craven Cottage (Spotrac), has impressed for the west London outfit since joining them from Newcastle United on a permanent deal last summer.

With Everton looking for a top-six finish next season, the signing of Mitrovic would be a very good way in which to start off their summer business.

Mitrovic has netted 10 goals from 34 appearances in all competitions this term, and he could do even better if surrounded by superior players at Goodison Park.

The Toffees currently have Dominic Calvert-Lewin as their first-choice central striker, but the the 47-cap Serbia international would be any upgrade on the 22-year-old, and he could very well go on to become a real hit at Everton.

Rodney Marsh critical of QPR and Fulham

Queens Park Rangers are struggling in the Championship, while Fulham have been relegated from the Premier League.

Rodney Marsh has criticised his former clubs Fulham and Queens Park Rangers on Twitter.

While Fulham have been relegated from the Premier League, QPR are in danger of dropping out of the Championship.

Rangers, who recently parted company with Steve McClaren, went down 4-0 to Norwich City away from home at Carrow Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The London club are 18th in the Championship table at the moment with 44 points from 40 matches, just five points above the relegation zone.

Former Fulham and QPR forward Marsh has strongly criticised the two London clubs on Twitter.

QPR have been struggling in the Championship for a few years now, while Fulham clinched promotion from the Premier League at the end of last season.

The Cottagers will be especially disappointed that they have not been able to retain their English top-flight status for the 2019-20 campaign, given the squad and quality of players they have.

Fulham will be aiming to get straight back up from the Championship.

Fulham star Aleksandar Mitrovic set for £50m China move with £300,000-a-week offer tabled
FULHAM striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is set to hit the jackpot with a lucrative move to China after the Cottagers were relegated from the Premier League.

The Serb is being offered £300,000 a week to move to the Chinese Super League with Guangzhou Evergrande leading the chase to sign him.

They are willing to match the £50 million asking price which is double what the West London side paid Newcastle United to sign him after he impressed on loan.

Mitrovic has been one of the few bright spots in a disappointing season for Fulham who will drop out of the top flight after being hammered by Watford in midweek.

He has got plenty of interest from the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, West Ham United, Southampton and Everton all keen on signing him.

But they are struggling to compete with the huge wages that he is being offered to move to China as well as Fulham's staggering asking price.

Mitrovic fired Slavisa Jokanovic's side to promotion last season after joining on loan in January 2018.

The 24-year-old scored 12 times in 17 Championship appearances before helping Fulham to a 1-0 win over Aston Villa at Wembley.

His form this season has been inconsistent, but his finishing ability will attract several suitors.

The Serbian scored six goals in his first six Premier League appearances for Fulham, but is now on a run of eight games without a goal.

Everton are said to be in the race for the forward, and although fan favourite Tim Cahill praised the striker last month, he also suggested that he hasn't done enough this season.

He told Sky Sports: "I look at him [Mitrovic] as being made at Fulham.

"They gave him a lifeline, they put him on the map, yes he's scored goals.

"Players like that need to think about the club now doing as much as they can."

Next up for Fulham and Mitrovic is a home clash against a possible destination for the striker in Marco Silva's Everton.

"Great player, poor attitude" - Leicester City fans react to Aleksandar Mitrovic transfer link

The Foxes were linked with the Fulham striker this week

Leicester City have been linked with a move for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic after they were relegated earlier this week.

Fulham were sent back down to the Championship at the first time of asking after a 4-1 defeat to Watford on Tuesday, despite spending over £100m in the summer on transfers.

One of those players was Aleksander Mitrovic, who was a prolific goal scorer for Fulham during his loan spell in the Championship, which saw them promoted to the Premier League.

The Serbian has scored 10 goals this season, 30 percent of Fulham's goals and is a Premier League goal scorer for both them and Newcastle.

Mitrovic is heavily linked with a move to a Premier League club and City are among the teams in the running, according to reports .

The Blue Army have responded on Twitter and they have mixed opinions about the speculation with concerns over the striker's attitude and where he fits in with Jamie Vardy still the first-choice striker.

@Helsy33 : "I would, but only if we play to his strengths. We didn't with Slimani with the exception of one/two games."

Michael_LCFC_96: "Great player just a very poor attitude which is a shame, be a good partner for Vardy though if he sorted it out."

@AndyTimson : "Good target man but needs to work on his discipline plus could be a problem in the dressing room, but I would take the gamble on him for like £20 million."

@RubenRobins : "Offers a plan B we haven't had since we sold Ulloa. Sometimes if you can't pass it in, and with Albrighton and Tielemans ability to cross, worth a go if reasonable price."

@Pikefish1 : "Why would any decent striker want to come in and play 2nd fiddle to Vardy?! Can't see Rodgers wanting to go 2 up top!"

@lcfc_Jamie11 : "Wouldn't drop Vards for him and he wouldn't want to be a bench player. We also don't have the players that can play to his strengths."

@JohnbwMayes : "It's a fair shout if his temperament has improved... I think we should have bought Rondon in the summer. Then again, maybe neither of us are thinking big enough..."

@Dnwoolk : "Another Troy Deeney, so strong at holding the ball up front and good in the air. Exactly what we are missing."

@JoeStevensPGA : "Can't believe he's 24!!! I think he'd be a decent shout for Leicester"
