The Official Silly Season 2019/20 Summer Transfer Thread

Well, not much to play for now, apart from preparing for the Sky Bet Championship, so we may as well get the Official Silly Season 2019/20 Summer Transfer Thread underway, as there are already a few rumors flying around.

As before, this thread is labelled as the 'Silly Season Transfer Thread' so please take it as it is, and lets not get to serious about it, as it's designed for a bit of Forum fun.

Jean Michael Seri seeking Fulham exit after Premier League relegation with Monaco leading chase for midfielder

Jean Michael Seri joined Fulham in a joint £25million deal last summer from Nice

He's had a disappointing season at Fulham as they failed to avoid relegation

He has little desire to play in the Championship and is open to a return to France

By SIMON JONES FOR MAILONLINE

Fulham midfielder Jean Michael Seri is wanted by Monaco.

The 27-year-old was one of the most sought-after playmakers last summer and joined Fulham in surprise bargain £25million deal from Nice with team-mate Maxime Le Marchand.

Though he has shown glimpses of the quality he possesses, Seri has had a largely unimpressive campaign in a struggling Fulham side and was unable to prevent them being relegated from the Premier League.

He has little desire to play in the Championship and is open to a return to France.

A number of top clubs have made initial enquiries but Monaco are understood to be in pole position and Seri is keen to talk to them if they can agree a fee with Fulham.

The Craven Cottage club are braced for a number of offers this summer with West Ham keen on Aleksandar Mitrovic and Tottenham among the frontrunners for Ryan Sessegnon.

Fulham player's contract won't be renewed, will be offered to 'top clubs' in Belgium

Perhaps one of the biggest flops in Liverpool's recent history, Lazar Markovic was allowed to join Fulham on a free in January, putting an end to his time at Anfield permanently.

Bought for £22.5m from Benfica back in 2014, the Serbian winger never managed to make it on Merseyside, and has similarly struggled at Craven Cottage over the past few months.

Making just one appearance since his move (a 44 minute cameo in a 3-1 loss to West Ham), Markovic's six month contract is due to expire in June, and Fulham won't be extending it.

This is according to Voetbalkrant in Belgium, who go on to explain the 25-year-old, following his exit from the London club, will be offered to the top clubs in the Jupiler Pro League, which includes Anderlecht.

Perhaps enjoying his best spell in recent years with the Belgian side, Markovic could land on his feet quickly, although his former club won't be jumping at the chance just yet.

First, Anderlecht want to sort out their managerial position, and only then will the Serbian's case be looked at.

The club's technical director, Michael Verschueren is expected to hold an appointment with the Fulham forward's entourage next week.

Fulham are reportedly chasing a deal for Matthias Zimmermann.

According to EXPRESS in Germany, Fulham have submitted a €7million (£6million) bid to sign Fortuna Dusseldorf defender Matthias Zimmermann this summer.

The Cottagers have suffered relegation from the Premier League, but have suddenly won three games in a row without conceding a goal, boosting Scott Parker's chances of becoming their permanent manager.

Fulham will already be planning for life back in the Championship, and another right back may be on the radar to compete with Ryan Christie next season.

No permanent manager is in place yet, but one player appears to be a target already, as EXPRESS report that Fulham have submitted a bid of £6million for Zimmermann.

The 26-year-old has been something of a nomad in his native German,y already turning out for Karlsruhe, Borussia Monchengladbach, Greuther Furth, Sandhausen, Stuttgart and now Fortuna Dusseldorf.

In what has been a superb season for Dusseldorf, Zimmermann has been a key part of their rise, notching a goal and three assists in 31 Bundesliga games.

Fulham will hope to get a deal teed up for the summer, making Zimmermann their first signing since relegation, but Dusseldorf will be desperate to keep hold of him as they look to build on such a strong season.

By SIMON JONES FOR MAILONLINE

Ryan Sessegnon has set his sights on joining Tottenham this summer.

The 18-year-old has interest from Paris St Germain and Juventus but wants to stay in the Premier League and Tottenham is his preferred destination.

Sessegnon, who turns 19 later this month, has one year left on contract though Fulham are still expected to demand around £35million.

Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon has expressed a desire to join Tottenham in the summer

Despite Fulham's poor campaign, Sessegnon has continued to impress. The teenager has made 35 appearances in all competitions so far this season, contributing two goals and six assists.

Mauricio Pochettino has been an admirer of the versatile teenager for over 18 months and Tottenham are poised to make their move once the window opens.

Sessegnon wants to continue living in west London and is fully aware that manager Mauricio Pochettino has a fine track record of developing young English players.

Tom Cairney Signs New Contract With Fulham

We are delighted to confirm that Tom Cairney has committed his long-term future to Fulham Football Club.

The skipper has agreed terms on a new contract that keeps him in SW6 until the summer of 2024 – a spell that could be extended by a further year.

Since joining the Whites in 2015, Cairney has arguably been the team's most consistent performer, racking up 161 appearances in that time and scoring 28 – often spectacular – goals, in addition to laying on 24 assists for his teammates.

He will go down in history as the first Fulham player to score at Wembley Stadium, when he captained the side to victory in last summer's Play-Off Final, and he will now target another promotion when we compete in the Championship in 2019/20.

Speaking to fulhamfctv, Cairney said: "The Club's been amazing to me, and to extend my contract again is an amazing feeling. I want to stay for a long time, and hopefully finish my career here.

"This place feels like home. I don't think you can put a price on happiness, and your life off the pitch as well, and I can't see myself anywhere else.

"I feel like I've got unfinished business. I want to stay here and I want to get the Club back to the Premier League.

"I want to bounce straight back next season. I know how hard the Championship is, but knowing our owners and how ambitious the Club is, I'm sure we'll give it a good go."

Tony Khan added: "Tom Cairney captained Fulham Football Club through our run of 23 matches unbeaten and then scored the winning goal in our 1-0 Championship Play-Off Final win.

"Tom loves this club, our staff and our supporters. This season has been difficult for all of us, but as we look to regroup and start the fight to earn back our place in the Premier League, I don't know a better person to set things right and lead this squad back again than Tom.

"I'm pleased to announce that TC has extended his contract, he will remain with us at the Club for the fight ahead! Come on Fulham!"

Keep an eye on fulhamfc.com for a full interview with Tom after he put pen to paper.

EXCLUSIVE: CELTIC & FULHAM PLOT SWOOP TO SIGN LEFT-SIDED FLYER AVAILABLE ON A FREE

Celtic face competition from Fulham and Bristol City to sign Iran defender Milad Mohammadi, Football Insider understands.

A Hoops source has told Football Insider that Mohammadi remains on the club's radar this summer after they considered moves for the Akhmat Grozny left-back during the last two transfer windows.

The 25-year-old is out of contract at Russian Premier League side Akhmat Grozny this summer and his availability on a free transfer has alerted a number of clubs across Europe.

Relegated Fulham are expected to make wholesale changes to their squad this summer with a number of players set to leave following relegation to the Premier League and they have been keeping tabs on Mohammadi's situation.

Fulham could be in the market for left-sided reinforcements as speculation continues to link Ryan Sessegnon with a potential move away from Craven Cottage this summer.

Promotion-chasing Bristol City are also in the market for a new left-back this summer in case they lose the in-demand Lloyd Kelly during this summer's window.

Celtic have continued to keep tabs on 25-times international Mohammadi, who is renowned for his raids up the left flank, and they could make a move for Iranian as they look to provide cover and competition for Kieran Tierney with Emilio Izaguirre out of contract at Parkhead at the end of the season.

West Ham want Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic as Andy Carroll replacement as SEVEN head out

WEST HAM boss Manuel Pellegrini is eyeing a move for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to replace Andy Carroll as he begins a squad overhaul this summer.

West Ham's season can be summed up in one word - average.

Hammers fans have endured another season of mid-table mediocrity.

And manager Pellegrini appears to have had enough, planning a mass clear-out in an attempt to get rid of the dead wood.

So who is at the top of his list of replacements to mount a charge for a Europa League spot next season?

With three strikers potentially heading out of the London Stadium this summer, Pellegrini is plotting to raid relegated Fulham, according to the Daily Mail.

The injury-plagued Andy Carroll will finally bring his disappointing spell at the club to an end with his contract expiring.

Lucas Perez could also leave West Ham just 12 months after joining, having failed to impress in his debut season.

While star name Javier Hernandez could complete an £8m move to Valencia, with Pellegrini looking to free up funds to revamp his squad.

Hernandez could be set for a surprise move away from West Ham this summer (Pic: GETTY)
That would leave Marko Arnautovic and Michail Antonio as the club's only recognised strikers.

But reports suggest the pair could be joined by Fulham and Serbia hitman Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The 24-year-old is the Cottagers' top scorer this season with 11 goals.

But his goal scoring antics weren't enough to prevent the southwest London side from the drop with five matches to spare.

Also potentially heading out of the club is back-up goalkeeper Adrian, who is out-of-contract.

Nottingham Forest loanee Sam Byram is also expected to leave the Hammers as he enters the final year of his Hammers deal.

Midfield flop Jordan Hugill could also face the axe, having made just three appearances for West Ham following his £7.2m last January, before he was loaned out to Middlesborough for this season.

Once regarded as the next big thing in the Premier League, Reece Oxford has dropped off the radar at the London Stadium, and is close to agreeing a permanent deal with Bundesliga side FC Augsburg.

Fulham, West Brom and Brighton eyeing up Bristol City manager Lee Johnson - EXCLUSIVE

Lee Johnson could be heading out of Bristol City if they don't go up (Pic: GETTY)

LEE JOHNSON will be a manager in demand this summer – if he fails to lead Bristol City into the Premier League.

Fulham, who are heading in the opposite direction, are waiting to see whether Johnson's men reach the Championship Play Offs before deciding on the future of current caretaker Scott Parker.

And the Londoners are not alone with their interest in Johnson, 37.

Top-flight strugglers Brighton and and City's potential promotion rivals, West Brom are also monitoring his situation closely.

After beating Millwall in midweek the Robins head into the final day of the Championship still in the hunt for the last play-off spot.

To take it, they must win at Hull and hope Derby lose at home to the Baggies and Middlesbrough fail to take three points at relegated Rotherham.

Should they miss out, however, the West Country's resolve to keep their sought-after boss will be seriously tested – along with his own desire to stay for a fourth year.

The good news for the Robins is that Johnson appears in no hurry to leave. Indeed, he says he is already planning big for next season.

Ahead of the crunch trip to the Tigers, the Ashton Gate chief revealed: "There'll be new players coming in this summer, without question.

Lee Johnson has impressed in charge of Bristol City (Pic: GETTY)
"The club's in an absolutely brilliant position to drive forward - whatever division we're in."

On what is bound to be a tension-riddled afternoon, Johnson intends to be across all the action unfolding at Pride Park and the New York stadium.

The ex-City midfielder added: "I want to be in touch. That's important. It doesn't change the players' mindset on the pitch. We've still got to capitalise on moments in the game.

"I know we can and I know we've got the talent to do it. I respect Hull but this game is all about us."

Liverpool scouts impressed by 17-year-old Fulham defender Cody Drameh

Liverpool are gearing up to make a move for Fulham's teenage right back Cody Drameh.

Drameh, not 18 until December, has played for Mark Pembridge's Under-23 team this season and Liverpool scouts have been left impressed.

The England Under-18 international has one year left on his scholarship at Craven Cottage and it is believed a fee would be reasonable. Frankfurt are also interested in the youngster.

Pacey, Drameh likes to get forward and his style has been likened to Liverpool's current right back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Former Ajax trainee Ki-Jana Hoever is operating at right back for the club's Under-23 team but his long-term future is likely to be at centre half.

Hoever has made one appearance for Jurgen Klopp's first team, away at Wolves in the FA Cup, and has the attributes to follow in the footsteps of Holland's latest commanding defender, Matthijs De Ligt.

Wolves and Fulham in the race for €20m defender, officials being sent today

According to a claim in the Turkish media, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham are interested in Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida ahead of the summer transfer window.

Since his performances in the 2018 World Cup, the Croatia international has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Wolves and Fulham the latest English clubs reported to be tracking the player.

Wolves were also linked with Vida a few weeks ago after reports they made enquiries about the defender.

Fotomac today report Wolves and Fulham have sent scouts to Istanbul to watch today's game between Galatasaray and Besiktas with the intention to get a lowdown on Vida.

The Turkish media outlet says, via reports coming out of Croatia, Besiktas are looking to offload Vida this summer and will listen to offers in the region of €20m. The Istanbul club may need to sell players during the next transfer window due to FFP implications.

It's also reported the two Premier League clubs will face competition to sign the central defender with claims AS Roma, Sevilla and Espanyol are all tracking the Croatian.

Arsene Wenger rejects Fulham job for SECOND time this season as they aim to appoint big-name manager

Fulham have failed with a fresh attempt to persuade back into management.

Former Arsenal manager Wenger turned down an approach from the Cottagers in November before they appointed Claudio Ranieri.

Undeterred by that knock back, the ambitious Londoners asked the question again of Wenger again more recently despite being Championship-bound.

Once again Wenger, who left Arsenal a year ago after 22 years in charge, said no following the enquiry.

Wenger is continuing to ponder if and where he will make a return to football.

Meanwhile Fulham have been weighing up their managerial options, including the new Wenger approach, while caretaker Scott Parker has been making his own case to land the job full-time.

Sportsmail understands ambitious Fulham have been keen to see if they can tempt a big-name manager to take over at Craven Cottage.

They are ready to turn to Parker and hand him his first full-time managerial job if those attempts ultimately prove unsuccessful.

Parker was handed the caretaker reins in February following Ranieri's dismissal and, with most of the damage already done by then, he was unable to prevent their relegation.

He did lead Fulham to three straight wins and clean sheets before Saturday's 1-0 loss at Wolves, a run which enhanced his claims to land the job on a permanent basis.

Fulham's players are backing Parker's bid to become the club's next full-time manager.

Captain Tom Cairney said: 'I've said for a long time that I think Scott has done an incredible job and, in my eyes, I think he is the right man for the job.'

Fulham player rejects chance to stay in Premier League and agrees move abroad

Hurriyet have exclusively reported Galatasaray have reached an agreement to sign Fulham's Ryan Babel and the winger will join the Istanbul club at the end of the season.

The Fulham attacker has reportedly rejected lucrative offers from Qatar and China in order to get a return to the Turkish Super Lig. Babel had a spell with Besiktas before his move to Fulham in the last transfer window.

The Turkish newspaper also reports Babel had admirers from England but the offers he received from Premier League sides were not as strong as Galatasaray's proposal.

Babel will reportedly earn €2.5m per year for two seasons with Gala, including a €2.2m signing on fee.

It's likely the 32-year-old will play his last game for Fulham at the weekend when the London club face Newcastle United at Craven Cottage.

The Dutch international has made 15 appearances for Fulham this season and scored 5 goals.

However, he was unable to help Fulham avoid the drop to the Championship after just one season back in the top flight.

Fulham reportedly seek a deal for Sheffield Wednesday loan star Michael Hector

Fulham have been linked with Sheffield Wednesday loanee Michael Hector.

According to a report in the Sun, Fulham have set their sights on signing Chelsea's Michael Hector this summer despite the player announcing his interest in re-joining loan club Sheffield Wednesday.

The former Reading defender has struggled to break through at Chelsea and he has spent the season on loan at Championship club Sheffield Wednesday, building up a rapport with the fans at Hillsborough.

Every Premier League Club's WORST Signing This Season
The 26-year-old recently won the Player of the Year award for the Owls, and in his acceptance speech he called for a potential return to the club when asked if he would like to move to Wednesday permanently.

"I've enjoyed my time here at Sheffield. Hopefully something gets sorted," Hector said via a video that was shared on Twitter.

Hector has little chance of making the grade at Chelsea, and his contract at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer of 2020.

The Blues would surely prefer to sell him this summer rather than allow him to move out on loan again and subsequently walk away on a free transfer in 12 months.

Sheffield Wednesday's Michael Hector

Fulham have endured a difficult stay in the top flight as they suffered relegation back to the Championship. It was said the Cottagers spent over £100 million on new players last summer to no avail.

The West London club will be looking to make several sales this summer, but they will also be looking to strengthen the squad with players of Championship experience and Hector represents a fine option.

Fulham would probably have the means to cover his reported £17,000-a-week wages, while the player himself wouldn't be moving far with Craven Cottage located just a few miles from Stamford Bridge.

Southampton plot £30m bid for Fulham star Aleksandar Mitrovic - EXCLUSIVE

SOUTHAMPTON are planning a £30 million summer move for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is planning a major revamp of his squad after steering them to Premier League safety this season – and big, aggressive goalscoring centre forward is one of his targets.

Mitrovic has netted 11 goals this season in a struggling team as Fulham were relegated from the Premier League, and the Serb, despite the prospect of a new deal being offered by the club, looks set to leave Craven Cottage, with West Ham also interested, as well as several Chinese Super League clubs.

Saints will make Danny Ings' loan signing from Liverpool permanent this summer for an £18 million fee, but Charlie Austin has struggled for fitness, and fellow striker Shane Long has scored only five goals this season.

Fulham want to keep Mitrovic, whose goals were instrumental in helping them win promotion to the Premier League.

Southampton fans all make the same joke as Shane Long breaks record
The £30m fee the Cottagers have placed on the striker may though prove a stumbling block for some clubs.

Crystal Palace are also understood to be monitoring his situation.

Midfielder Tom Cairney last week signed the new deal offered to him, but the Serb striker has more options to consider.

Cairney has penned a new deal until 2024 and have even claimed he's ready to end his career at the club.

"The club's been amazing to me, and to extend my contract again is an amazing feeling. I want to stay for a long time, and hopefully finish my career here," he told FulhamFCTV.

"This place feels like home. I don't think you can put a price on happiness, and your life off the pitch as well, and I can't see myself anywhere else.

FULHAM LINKED WITH THE ACQUISITION OF A STRIKER

Transfer speculation is sure to dominate our thoughts this summer.

Our article questioned who might be on Fulham's list as a possible replacement.

Searching the plethora of news sources available to us, we are now able to bring you the name of one possibility.

According to the tabloid publication, the Sun, Fulham are one of three clubs linked with the acquisition of the Sheffield Wednesday striker, Gary Hooper.

Hooper, 31-years-of-age, is a free agent after his contract at Hillsborough came to a disappointing end with the player being limited to six appearances due to injury.

However, among the other clubs interested in the player are Celtic, with whom Hooper had a previous spell scoring 63 goals in 90 league appearances between the period 2010 and 2013.

My own personal view is that Hooper isn't the man for us, his age and injury record last season concern me, therefore, a move back to Glasgow could be the best answer for all parties concerned.

Insider: West Ham weigh up underwhelming loan move for Fulham flop Andre Schurrle

West Ham could move to sign ex-Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle on loan. According to insider EXWHUEmployee on The West Ham Way podcast on Phoenix FM (Wednesday 8th May), the Hammers might hijack Fulham's loan.

Borussia Dortmund winger Schurrle is on a two-year loan at Fulham but the West London club have been relegated to the Championship.

Because the Cottagers have gone down, West Ham could take over the second year of his loan spell. Schurrle would remain on loan but be playing for West Ham rather than Fulham.

When Fulham signed Schurrle last season, it looked like a coup. The 57-cap Germany international was out of favour at Borussia Dortmund but was expected to thrive in England.

In his previous spell in the Premier League, Schurrle scored 14 goals across two seasons with Chelsea. He was mainly used as an impact substitute and he performed that role well.

But his time at Craven Cottage has been a struggle. Scoring six times in 24 games, Schurrle was unable to avoid a comprehensive relegation with Fulham.

Fulham fans have grown frustrated with the 28-year-old, who has had an underwhelming campaign. In turn, West Ham fans would probably be disappointed with this business.

The Hammers do not need a new winger and should be aiming for better players than Fulham flop Schurrle.

Harry Arter bids farewell to Cardiff as he eyes up a move to a London club

Republic of Ireland midfielder Harry Arter will not be staying at Cardiff City after their relegation from the Premier League this season and he could be set for a move to Fulham.

Independent.ie understands that Arter would be open to sealing a switch to Craven Cottage after his season-long loan move from Bournemouth to Cardiff concludes, with the midfielder expressing his sadness at leaving the Bluebirds after a campaign that saw him re-establish his credentials as Premier League performer.

"I loved every minute of my time at Cardiff," Arter told us. "The atmosphere in that stadium was just incredible and from the moment I walked into the club, the fans were fantastic to me. It was just such a shame that we couldn't quite stay up."

Arter has been commuting to Wales from his London base throughout this season and he is now keen to find a new club closer to the English capital, with Fulham strongly linked with a move to sign the 29-year-old who has played 25 Premier League matches this season.

Confirmation on Friday that Arter's brother-in-law Scott Paker has been named as Fulham's permanent manager has strengthened his hopes of a move to Craven Cottage.

Fulham chairman Shahid Khan announces four contract extensions ahead of Newcastle clash

Shahid Khan has announced that Denis Odoi, Floyd Ayite, Neeskens Kebano and Stefan Johansen have all had options taken up on their contracts to return to the squad for the 2019/20 season.

Johansen is currently on loan at West Bromwich Albion who were defeated in the first leg of their play-off clash against Aston Villa on Saturday while the other trio have been involved in the Whites turnaround in form since relegation was confirmed.

The move sees the Cottagers adding stability in what can be a turbulent time for clubs, or simply ensuring they can command a fee when the time comes for the stars to leave.

The move follows Tom Cairney's new contract that will run until 2024.

Fulham's chairman told the official matchday programme: "Among Tom's teammates who will return to the squad in 2019.20 are Denis Odoi, Floyd Ayite, Neeskens Kebano and Stefan Johansen, all of who have had their options picked up.

"All four have been faithful to Fulham and were instrumental in our promotion, giving us great confidence, ability and continuity as we prepare for the intensity of a 46-match season in the Championship.

"Denis, Floyd, Neeskens and Stefan each earned their return ticket and we'll be counting on them from the start. Welcome back gentleman."

Khan also singled out Fulham youngster Harvey Elliott for praise.

He said: "I have one last note on football and it's a good one. I want to send my best to Harvey Elliott, another product of the spectacular Fulham academy, for making his Premier League debut as a member of our First Team last Saturday at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The huge target set by Fulham owner Shahid Khan after appointing Scott Parker as head coach

"You know the rest of the story - by coming on in the 88th minute, Harvey became the youngest player ever to compete in a Premier League match, 16 years and 30 days, to be precise.

"It was a great moment for Harvey as well as for Huw Jennings and his exceptional Academy staff, and it was richly deserved.

"No one walks onto a Premier League pitch unqualified, not even for a cameo or spot appearance in added time. All of England and much of the football world took notice, and it was unquestionably one of my proudest moments being affiliated with this historic and beloved club."
